Well Friday was a day of anticipating Bobby and the kiddos arriving from warm Florida. Seems Delta Airlines had a malfunctioning airplane on the runway so they were delayed for an hour causing them to miss their connecting flights which put them in here around 3 PM instead of around noon. It was rather cold with the high wind gusts which made for even colder wind chills. At least the sun was shining which made for some outside activities. After a lite lunch when they arrived we headed out to burn off some energy.
I had piled up nearly an acre of dried leaves down below into the dry gulch so Annsley and Gabe had a fun time jumping off of the bank into the pile of leaves. I wish I could pack these leaves up and give them to them for a present as they had a grand time. We then took off on a hike to the top of the mountain. We ran into Sarah with her little fluffy dog and the kiddos had a grand time playing with Lexie. We headed back down the mountain as the cold wind whipped through the trees. The kiddos wanted a campfire so I built a small one and they played with it for about as long as it took to build it. Nancy made hot chocolate for them as they sat around the campfire sipping their drink
and then the temps started to drop precipitously.
We headed into the cabin to the smell of pot roast prepared chef Bobby's way. Wow was it ever tasty and we cleaned the pot of carrots and taters in a rich gravy. Yikes was that ever tasty. After the clean up the kiddos had their baths and then put on their flannel jammies and then settled into a Chronicles of Narnia movie. It wasn't long afterwards the kiddos were out like lights and after my hot shower I managed to watch Gold Rush and then son Bobby and I to were heading to bed. They had a long day and the outside activities had them plum worn out, LATER
