Well Friday started out much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to start the day. After a few of my daily routines I did a few quiet moments and had a lite breakfast of oatmeal, cinnamon, honey and a few pecans to give it some crunch before heading out to the rec on my bike. It was a bit nippy as the north breeze made for a chilly ride. By the time my workout was over at 10 the sun had warmed the outside air considerably and made for a pleasant ride home. Nancy was at her Friday morning Bible study at SFBC, so I hung the load of laundry she left in the washing machine then picked lettuces, kale, spinach and beet greens and cleaned them for a huge salad. I then picked a nice mess of green beans the first for this year filling up a colander. I had enough for supper and then gave GG enough for her supper and enough for another meal. Boy where they ever good as these aren't your normal green beans.
We had a large turnout for pickle ball with a mixture of A and B players. I stayed most of the morning on the court and had a soaked shirt once again as I left around 10 for home.
Amy, GG and the kiddos came for a lunch of pizzas doctored up with fresh mushrooms and a side salad. Yeow did I ever overdo it and made that my big meal of the day. We took GG with us after Amy left to pick up Ava from school to get her imaging record of her arteries as she has an appointment with a vascular surgeon on Tuesday. I still think it's a waste of time as she has reduced the swelling in her ankles with a change in her blood pressure meds; but Humana wants her to see a surgeon at 86 years of age. We stopped at her place as she has been having trouble with her bathroom sink not draining properly so I corrected that situation before we headed home. We were watching the Ross Kiddos at 5 ish as Amy and Tyler were celebrating their 10th anniversary at the Salt Rock Grill and then out to a movie.
I grilled chicken legs per Sam's request and had boiled macaroni and green beans. Little Eliza Faye ate very good as she ate some of everything. Ava is a picky eater and Sam is very finicky about certain things on his plate but not Eliza as she poked it in with both hands. Nancy had ice cream sandwiches for the them for dessert and then I popped them a huge bowl of pop corn for later during their movie time. Eliza was right in there with them up until it was her bedtime then she went right down and slept through until they took all of the kiddos home around 11'ish.
I had taken my shower before Nancy put Eliza down for bed so once they left I was ready for some horizontal lab shortly thereafter. I had read most of the evening after Eliza went to bed as Sam and Ava watch 2 movies with Nancy. I finished KILLING PATTON and once again O'Reilly and Dugard did a magnificent job of researching for the read and if we had listened to Patton the world would be in a much better position especially regarding the Russians. Patton was a true hero who spoke with audacity and truth while being a little rough along the edges. He was what made America great despite his coarseness at times and if we had some leadership today the world would be so much calmer. He and Teddy Roosevelt were cut from the same material, LATER
