Well we woke up NO power on the mountain this morning, actually Nancy got up around 3'ish and the power went out until 7:30 ish. I mentioned to her what a difference electricity makes in your life and if I wanted to cripple this nation that is what I would attack. We could make it without it but it certainly wouldn't be luxurious as it is now.
Friday was another miserable rain filled, foggy and damp day and its still raining as I make this post. Thankfully no gully washers but still at close to three inches of rain it's more than enough. I started the day with my usual 6'ish roll out to a cup of hot tea while I posted this blog, did some quiet time lifting up several especially neighbor Ben who has returned to his cabin as per his final wishes and surrounded by family to leave this earth. I did get in a mid afternoon hike and stopped by and spoke briefly with his wife Laura and she mentioned it could be hours until he is gone. Leukemia is the diagnosis along with double pneumonia.
Well we didn't do much except read since we had worked most of the day on Thursday getting ready for sister Dee and Mike but they cancelled due to health issues related to bronchitis which both seemed to acquire during the preceding week. It would have been a less than idea time to visit with being shut inside the cabin but hopefully all will recover and make plans for next summer here at the cabin. Sheri and Steve got in and came for lunch as we had tons of lunch and supper foods that needed to be eaten. After supper we got into a 26 round of Oh Well, a card game which Nancy won by 2 points and Sheri was DAL(dead last). It is a raucous game to say the least. We had the Ray's game on in the back ground and at one time they led 5-2 but the ending was outrageous with the bats of the Sox's coming to life and it was 14-6 for them, yikes what happened to our great bull pen and their outstanding record. Oh well thankfully its the best of 5 games but we have to go to Boston on Sunday, LATER
Rain and overcast with fog is the scene and has been since Wednesday.
