Well I must say Tuesday was nothing usual as I awakened in the night to a painful ankle after some hard playing pickle ball matches on Monday, so I skipped any physical activity except for working on the cabinets. The ankle loosened up during the day and I never noticed it again until I sat around after supper. Nancy's mom GG twisted her leg and fell after getting home from a luncheon out with her girl friends so she was confined to the couch until she could be taken to the ER. Nancy spent the night with her as she gets up several times during the night and the walker wouldn't fit through the bathroom door, oh well.
The day started with a 6'ish roll out with a painful right ankle. I tweaked it on Monday when I played several pickle ball matches with some of the top players in the county. One couple played in the national U.S. open tournament. They of course were much younger than I but I held my own against the male player. Our team eventually lost by one point after being ahead through out the match. It was fun to play against different players with varying degrees of talent. I hyperextended the ankle during one of the matches but never felt any real pain until I quit playing and awakened Tuesday morning. I cancelled my tournament play for this Thursday while taking a precaution against further injury. I'm able to get around but again this morning it was stiff and somewhat painful until I started moving around. I'll lay off any pickle ball play for the rest of the week.
I did my morning routines of a hot cup of green/ginger tea while I posted this ramble then spent a few quiet moments with my Creator in humble thanksgiving and lifting up those I know and love. I got word from youngest sister Dee that Paw Paw was taken back to the VA hospital in Martinsburg, W.VA. as there seems to be a reoccurrence of the infection that has so plagued him these past couple of months since he fell in September. He was readmitted there last night for further treatment. Please keep him and Nancy's mom GG, in your thoughts and prayers for healing. After my morning routines I got to work on the cabinet redo and managed to give them another coat of paint. The dark oak color has taken two coats of primer and now three coats of finish paint. I managed to hang a couple of the doors and attach the new pulls. What I have finished has met Nancy's approval so far.
I picked a peck of half runner green beans and gave some away to neighbors but still have enough for several suppers. These are the best tasting green bean ever and the only one my grandmother would ever grow in her garden. I also picked a couple more tomato's as well as a couple green peppers. I need to pick collards again as well. The lettuce is flourishing and I need to harvest that again. Amy brought me some leftover pinto beans from the family supper so that's what I ate for supper as Nancy was at the ER with her mom. She later came home to shower and get her clothes for the night as well as her meds since she was spending the night with GG. The x-ray didn't show any broken bones but today Nancy will take her to see an orthopedic doctor as she is in lots of pain in the knee area. Hopefully she will recover and be able to maintain her lifestyle because if not our lifestyle will change drastically, oh well. It wasn't long after 10'ish when Nancy left for the night that I was in the horizontal lab mode, LATER
