Saturday Morning August 20th

Well this month is nearly 2/3 gone and time is moving along so fast. We are over half done for this summer/fall for being here in the mountains. Where has this time gone and really we haven't traveled much at all off the mountain. Friday started out very wet after nearly 2 inches of rain fell over night. I had to wear my gum boots on my solo hike as the back road and part of the trail had standing water in the low places.

I started the day with my usual well before 6 roll out to my routines that start with some quiet moments after posting this ramble to honor my LORD and give thanks for another day and lift up several by name.  Nancy's brother Eric had 3 stents inserted into his arteries this day and is recouping in the hospital and doing as well as can be expected. Everyone else is holding as of now. I finished up my talk with GOD on my solo hike and noticed the sun peaking through the morning clouds which was promising for a rain less day. The sun did shine for the biggest part of the day and made for drying laundry outside on the line.

I headed down the driveway to rake some washed out areas and then neighbor Gerald came back during the late morning and scraped the drive with his tractor. There were some rally deep ruts from the overnight down pours. He is such a blessing to us here on the mountain. I piddled around in the gardens as the wet weather is like energy to the weeds and they grow over night. I did dig up my thyme plant and set it in a pot as the rain was killing it and just next to it the basil plant is growing like crazy with all the rain. I have new dill and cilantro plants from the seeds of the ones that died earlier and the oregano is now blooming. It just never seems to die.

We decided to have a late lunch as Nancy's tummy has some issues about eating and going to a class at the regular hours so I grilled us a couple hand patted burgers and along with some frozen fries we ate around 2'ish which gives her time incase her tummy acts up. That held me the rest of the day. I sat and read until it was time to head out around 5:30 for our Bible study class. We had 10 attending and a good study from 2 Peter on trust and faith. It was 8'ish before we ended and headed back to the cabin.

The Ray's lost in extra innings and the Hawaii team blew out the team from N.Y. in the LLWS. I hit the shower and was ready for some horizontal a little after 10, LATER
