Thursday Morning Nov 1 2018

Well this year is just flying by and it seems to go faster the older you get, oh well. Wednesday was an awesome Spring like day with temps nearing the 70 degree mark by late afternoon with just a slight breeze which made it great for working outside. It was a day that brought out the bugs once again as well as lots of termites coming out in swarms. I noticed lots of them up near the fire circle and I did a number on them with some Spectricide spray.

I started the day much the usual with a 6 ish roll out as the old internal alarm was working again after the day before's sleep in with my proverbial cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble then spent some quiet time with my Creator. Nancy's mom GG is back in the hospital after she aspirated while taking a pill. The lungs may have some pneumonia as well which isn't good at her age as the heart is only functioning at about 30 % or so, oh well, she is a tough cookie and we will just have to wait and see how she does. Everyone else seems to be fine as I've heard nothing to the contrary.

I headed out after breakfast to work in the yards and gardens once again. I raked leaves for the top dressing for the gardens as well as raked pine needles for the blueberry bushes. I defrosted the basement fridge and got it ready for when I shut the power off on Saturday morning to the cabin. I kept busy right up to just before lunch when we decided to take a hike. The weather awesome with bright sunshine and blue skies. We came back and had some lunch before heading out on the golf cart to the the top of the mountain to help neighbor Joe and Jetta split some of the wood I came them a few weeks back. We worked for a good hour and half before calling it a day. We carried the wood inside their garage and onto their porch to keep it out of the weather. They sure were appreciative of our help but they too help so many folks here on the mountain and its like what goes around comes around. We were delighted to help them.

Nancy pan fried a couple rib eye steaks which were perfect along with fried sweet taters. Delicious is all I can say and pan frying this cut of meat is the way to go especially if you like it medium rare. We settled into some Fox Cable News and then it was shower time around 9'ish. We have been trying to do a little each day so Friday which was usually our get everything ready to leave day but now I've just about completed everything but packing the truck. We will head to Sparta for lunch out with some old friends, go to the dump and Post Office then head home. Tomorrow we will visited with our "mountain mom"  and then pack the truck. Hopefully the rain will hold off while I do so as its in the forecast, LATER
