Well Thursday found me with some better progress on the healing of my knee and I was able to get outside and do some transplanting in the garden. I stayed away from the spading but since this area was spaded last week all I had to do was make furrows with my hoe. I was able to bend the knee almost to the normal position but did encounter some pain in that effort so I'm going to continue with the rehab for another 3-4 days before trying any physical exercise on the pickle ball court. I think Monday will be my target date and if not then I will walk and bike until I get this knee back into shape.
I transplanted 2 types of lettuces, kale and sowed more carrot seeds as well as moved more marigolds into larger containers from the seeds I brought back from the cabin. I noticed I have more green beans up from seeds I sowed on Saturday. I'm picking some greens for salads as noticed my cucumber plants are blooming as well as more blooms on the tomato plants. I have a couple green tomatoes on the vine as well. This warm weather is great for the garden. The cabbage is starting to head and in a couple weeks we will have a mess of collards.
The day started with a 6'ish roll out and then my normal routines of a few quiet moments with my Creator, the posting of this ramble and then an apple for breakfast. I'm finding that old saying "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" maybe valid. I'm dropping a little weight while eating this breakfast and keeping my portions or helpings to just one. We have been trying to not eat carbs with proteins at our big meal(supper) and occasionally forgo protein altogether except for legumes on our lunch salads. I think its working despite no really exercise as I've dropped about 5 pounds since getting back from the cabin.
Amy and Eliza came for lunch and Nancy make a potato soup which was very good with a little crumbled up bacon on top. I stuck to just one helping again and despite my taste buds wanting more I did show some restraint. I'm trying to not eat anything that I have to read the ingredients on the package. I'm still using fresh ginger root along with some ground turmeric in my morning hot green tea. I don't know if its making any difference in the joint or knee pain but I'm healing and that could be from the RICE method I've employed the past several days. But either way I'm starting to walk without a limp and sleeping better.
We are gearing up for the big Christmas cookie bake with Nancy and the grandkids in the next week or so. Here is where I must show lots of restraint from that occasion. Nancy loves to bake and now the grand kiddos will help with the decorations and then we will bless our neighbors with them as well as our family and friends, postman and garbage men. Our old neighbor came up yesterday and brought us a pound bag of shelled pecans they collected in Georgia and reminded Nancy she always received cookies from our house and thought these pecans would be a help. They moved a couple doors down. I love pecans as a snack and will surely use them as will Nancy on one of her delicious cookies, oh well!!
Well the lack of any responsible leadership in our government has promulgated the growth of radical Islam into the very fabric of our society. We have sympathized and even encouraged their being in our nation and now we are seeing the results with this mass shooting in California. When one has no love of their life to promote an ideology that kills and maims innocents and leaves a 6 month old baby to fend without a parent, we see the sickness that is spreading in the world and within that radical terrorist religion. Now we will have to be on alert to those who are promoting this fanatic discourse to promote their way of thinking. I blame the media for allowing this to become politically correct all except for the FOX News network. They seem to tell it like it is and pulls no punches to be politically correct. I really think the left wing or liberal pundits have given this group a free ride to destroy our traditional values, which despite all of our faults have been the most humane society ever as its based on the Judeo-Christian principles. I'm not sure what this caliphate the Islamist promote wants. This idea and their beliefs are not what we would call a peaceful religion when it promotes the killing of anyone who disagrees with their beliefs and their figurehead. I find them rather barbaric to say the least and where is the outrage from the women who are subjugated by these criminals who take away all liberties for them. Where is the women's lib group and the ACLU!!!
We have become a nation under the leadership of this community organizer that has destroyed the relationship of those who defend us in the military from outside aggression and the law enforcement family from within. He has gone around our laws that keep us safe and secure and now we see the disintegration of our very society with this cancer called radical Islam, LATER
