Well Monday was another hot day with no rain but it was a bit foggy to start the day which held the temps down until mid morning then it was bright sunshine and blue skies. I started the day with a before 6 rollout to my routines that begin with some quiet time to honor Jesus, give thanks for another day and then to lift up several by name for comfort and healing. Last evening after getting back from a basketball game at Keswick a neighbor visiting some how put her car in reverse and attempted to exit the vehicle when it rolled back knocking her to the ground then rolled over her legs and stopped on the left leg pinning her to the road. Luckily I was out there to help with getting the car off her legs and then held her hand until EMT's arrived and transported her to the hospital.
I headed out on my bike to the Rec for a good workout on the pickle ball courts before coming home and working out in the gardens. I got several hills of lettuce seedlings in the ground and hoed all of the plants before calling it a morning as the heat was oppressive. I chilled until it was lunch time then spent the afternoon reading while Nancy took Amy and the grand girls Christmas shopping since they are off this week from school. I started a new read which just breaks your heart and makes you angry that policemen in NYC were so corrupt and evil. The book is titled BLOOD AND THE BADGE by Michael Cannell. It a real page turner and it exposed the mafia in all of it forms as well as these two corrupt cops.
Well it was after 4 when Nancy got home so I headed out to give the gardens a hand watering and most every thing is doing well except the bush bean seeds I sowed a couple weeks ago never sprouted in the side garden which is OK as I now have half runner's breaking ground and they are the best tasting green bean, so now I will transplant some Swiss chard where I had sowed those bean seeds. Anyhow I did lose a cucumber hill but still have plenty left and of course now I'm going to have more tomato seedlings in a couple weeks to set out into the garden.
My neighbor who has carrier pigeons brought me a sack of pigeon poop which I will compost and use as fertilizer once it breaks down. Its very high in nitrogen and plants love it. We ate salad for lunch and then the leftover fried chicken and some fresh asparagus for our supper and then headed out to Keswick for some basketball. Ava's boyfriend plays on the varsity team and we really love watching the teenagers play. It was close to 8 before we pulled into the driveway and I was putting the truck in the garage when the neighbor's friend had her incident with being run over by her car, LATER
