Friday Morning June 5th

Well Thursday was another beautiful day but towards the afternoon the heat and humidity came on with a vengeance but that brought on a thunder storm around 9:30 in the evening and the skies opened up with a gully washer. The rain was the first we've seen since being on the mountain and I have been hand watering a little during the day the new seedlings. Hopefully this will bring on the gardens.

I started the day with a well before 6 roll out. It seems my mind will just not quit working all the things I need and want to do so I'm awake a couple times during the night with all these chores on my mind, anyhow I headed out shortly after my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble and then spent so quiet time my Lord and Creator in humble thanksgiving and intercessory prayers for many. All that I lift up by name seem to be doing well and our nation while its still being looted and burned by radicals who are funded by less than savory folks like Soros, the Left leaning dem's and terrorists groups like the BLM and the socialist promoted by the hollywood and the MSM crowd that now promotes the killing of our police officers.  It's such a shame they all hate this potus and want the nation to be destroyed just to harm his re-election chances. They have had hoax's, false accusations and a silent coup to take him down but I'm convinced that GOD put him in leadership of this nation for a reason and I'm hoping He will do it again in November.

I worked in the upper flower bed taking out everything and starting over again with wild flower seeds. My fingers and back is sore from all the weed and grass pulling and of course bending over on or on bended knees; but the beds are looking great and with this rain overnight the seeds should soon start to sprout. We took a hike around 10'ish and the mountain legs are slow to coming back to full strength but we will get there. When your a flatlanders for 7 months and then come back to being a hill climber it surely makes a difference on your stamina but we will get there. I'm a little far better since pickle ball the last few weeks or so have helped me to stay in better shape than Nancy. She is struggling on these hikes as well as all this outside physical work.

We took off to a warehouse that once supplied the restaurants in the area food stuff but since the virus shut down all of the eateries they have now opened it up to the public and this place has all kinds of bulk produce, meats and seafood as well as dried goods all in bulk. We we picked up a fresh salmon filet for 6.99 a pound as well as lots of produce and some other items that we went for which was toilet paper. We bought the last 12 pack as it still seems to the most wanted product around. Wal-Mart had none and neither did Sam's Club on the way up from Florida. You have to bag your own items and it wholesale type much like an Audi's but not nearly as organized. We got some beautiful produce and they have a freezer locker, a cold locker for fresh never frozen items as well as a walk in huge cooler for produce. I would shop there again and its closer than driving all the way into town at the only grocery which is Food Lion.

Nancy broiled the salmon which was delicious and we then froze the other half in water to preserve the freshness for another day for our supper. It was close 7'ish before set down to eat as we had been on the phone with middle sister Pat for a spell and then spoke with Paw Paw. He seemed to be in good spirits and cognizant of his situation due to his age and health. He mentioned he is no longer driving which he hasn't for a couple years. We promised to take him for the day when we come up in August to give her a break from the daily grind that comes with being the caretaker for him. It's a full time job and she is finally having her sisters take him for the day a couple times a month.

Well that was about it as we wondered around the property looking at the finished product of working our fingers to the bone for the last 4 days, yikes I can barely bend my fingers and arms without some pain and stiffness, but the results of changing out 4 flower beds is awesome. All of this work hopefully will be less next year with these results, LATER

Here is a picture of the boys Katie sent us and then the beautiful poppy flower. This one plant has 7 more blooms to open. The boys are teething so they are having some issues with that but they both are maturing from preemies to all most on the charts for average birth weight babies. They will be 6 months on the 19th of June.
