Sunday Morning..Dec 8th

Well this month is moving right along as well with only 17 more days until Christmas, wow. Saturday was another gorgeous Florida day with cool temps to start the morning and then almost a/c time in the afternoon but with the lack of humidity we held off. It was another chilly ride out to the Rec. on Saturday morning for nearly three hours of pickle ball. 5 of us better players decided to take the game to the outside court where we has some great play and we think you get a better workout with longer rallies and at least you leave with a wet shirt which seldom happens inside.

I piddled around in the garden and yards and then helped my neighbor Carol put her lawn mower back together. It seems she somehow mowed the starting cord so I had taken the top of the mower off to retrieve the area where the pull chord was located and then she a mower shop replace the cord and I put it back together for her. She wanted to buy a whole new mower when I convinced her it was worth replacing the chord; so with 25 bucks the old mower is working again, oh well.

I did my usual morning routines before heading out to the Rec. which is my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and ginger while I posted this ramble then spent some quiet time with my Creator and Lord while lifting up several by name for comfort and healing. All seem well as can be expected. We spoke briefly with our mountain mom and she is starting to recoup from what she thinks was the flu despite getting a flu shot, oh well. She at least sounded better than when we last spoke with her. It's been cold then warm in the mountains which makes it hard to acclimate to the weather. They are calling for snow this week up there.

Well I harvested a nice mess of Swiss chard for our supper to accompany a salmon filet and some pasta, delicious and this was our first mess of sauteed chard. It cooks down to like a sauteed fresh spinach after starting with a huge pile but oh so good and its now what is known as a super food along with kale, collards and beet greens. I have plenty growing  from the plants I brought back from the cabin.

Bobby and Katie came by for a surprise short visit as they were over to the beach to visit with old friends in from Washington State. They didn't have the kids this weekend so they were off to a movie just the two of them. We have all of the grand kiddos next Friday night for a sleep over and then cookie making with Nancy on Saturday morning. I made a Sam's Club run in the afternoon and gassed up and the prices have inched up since last time. That was about it for the day as I did watch the Lightning win finally and some of the college football until it was lights out for me around 10'ish, LATER
