Monday Morning..August 5th

Well time is just moving right along as I grow older each day. Our company left today(Sun.) around 3'ish to catch a plane back to Florida. We had a going away brunch with them and the Tracy's which was absolutely delicious. Our local church in the mountains was having their service at a "river bottom" with a baptizing and then picnic so we opted out to worship with our BridgePoint Church which was live on line. The weather held beautifully all day long and once again we had the a/c off until bedtime when the bugs were so noisy you could barely hear the TV.

I started the day much the usual with my routines of a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble, spent some time with my Creator giving thanks and lifting up several and then checked all of the news outlets. Well the left is now seeing the results of taking GOD out of every thing with angry hateful folks who just kill at random. They blame the the guns but the real culprits are those who are filled with hate for their fellowman and have no sense of the "golden rule". So sad this is happening in this nation which is becoming more secular and polarized every day and that starts with killing unborn innocent babies as a platform to get elected, shameful. Those on the left are doing their best to destroy all of our Judeo-Christian principles that made this a great society that honored GOD, family and country.

Nancy fried up fresh yellow squash around 11 for an appetizer until I grilled burgers around 1'ish. We also had corn on the cob, tater salad, fresh sliced cucumbers as well as all the fixin's for the burgers. The food was simply delicious to say the least. I always love picnic style eatin's. We sat around and had old fashion talks out on the front porch with the fresh air keeping the temps very comfortable  until it was time to grill. We made plans with the Tracy's as they will be here until October. It's looking like we will have to leave a couple weeks early this year as well because of Katie's pregnancy. Her folks are having a baby shower on the 20th of October so we will pack up and leave on the 18th this year since we were originally planning on leaving the first of Nov. or a day earlier the last of October. There is no need to fly home for a couple days then come back for a week or so before heading to Florida for the winter. At least I don't have to go in September which is a plus as I dread that 12 hour drive more each year.

After the cleanup and the Botbyl's left for Greensboro to catch their flight home the Tracy's took off as well so we chilled digesting until it was time for a hike to the top of the mountain. We saw no one on top and headed back down the mountain. The haze was really bad in the distance from the heat from down below which seems to always be at least 10 degrees hotter or more in the summer and about the same in reverse in the winter. I came back and fired up the riding mower and mowed all but the backwoods yard which I usually let grow and extra turn when mowing. The yards are beautiful with many flowers blooming. The blueberries are starting to turn so I covered them with a mesh netting to keep the robins away. I then sowed some lettuces seeds and a small area with turnip seeds as we have gone two days with out any rain. I worked the ground up and while it still is holding some moisture it worked up nicely. We still had plenty of daylight so I decided to burn the trash which had accumulated the past week with all of the paper plates, etc we use inside of glass. I gave in to their use but would much rather eat on glass as we still wash cups etc., oh well.

I did pick up sticks from the yard and had a nice fire going as darkness fell as we sat around the burning trash heap. The Ray's won again over the Marlins at home in St.Pete and now have been on a winning streak. Lets hope we can put the Red Sox's behind us as we make a run for the playoffs, LATER
