Saturday Morning..Oct 5th

Well we awakened to some much cooler temps as a front came through over night after what is supposed to be our last 5 golf ball day in the foreseeable future here in the mountains. Friday was a splendid day although a bit humid and we had the a/c back on until early evening. It also was a great day for working outside under the porch roofs staining the floor boards with a wood preservative and taking for me at least two hikes. One in the early morning and one just before lunch as Nancy was tied up with household chores. We also had two loads of laundry drying outside on the clothesline in the hot bright sunshine.

I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my proverbial cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble and then spent some quiet time with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting up several by name. All seem well as can be expected. Our Potus Trump is making a mockery of the dems who are trying to impeach him for no wrong doing because they still can not except the fact he beat career lying politicians with the help of middle America folks many who had never voted before and turned out to vote out the corrupt Hillary. She is still in the news with accusations and just makes me want to vomit when we have to listen or see her evil tongue speak. The dems in their attempt to make up hoax's are seeing the truth of their complicity and duplicity come back to bite them. Finally one liberal dem rag actually excoriated Schiff for his made up parody of the phone call and for at least mentioning the Biden corruption which is now getting some traction. Oh Well. They are guilty of the very thing they accuse Trump which is their game plan.

I took off before breakfast for my first hike of the day which was exciting for me as I hiked non stop up the steep incline of the back woods trail and then again up the second incline to the top of the mountain. The sunshine was near blinding as I travelled up the path through the woods and then down again; all in about 20 minutes time. After a lite breakfast of fruit, nuts and yogurt I took the leaf blower and cleaned both the front and back porches of any loose debris then gave both of the porches floor boards as well as the steps up to the porches a good coat of wood preservative with a roller. Wow did it ever sink in as I've never done anything to these areas over the years. It also puts a shine on the boards as well. That kept me occupied and busy until nearly lunch time.

I took off on another much longer hike just before lunch as Nancy was busy cleaning lettuces and some garden kale and Swiss chard and making a huge salad which we will eat on the next several days. I didn't see any body or anything on the hike except where either a bear or a fox dug into the dirt bank and dug out a yellow jackets nest and ate the larvae. I noticed several empty nests where the hole had been dug and few live bees. I came back and we ate a beautiful fresh garden salad and then I settled into the ball game of the Rays vs Astros and when we left the Ray's were getting blown out, oh well. They have 4 more games and hopefully will put together 3 wins to move on to the divisional games and eventually into the world series games.

We headed over to Kaitlyn and Jake's place for a delicious supper and we ate outside on their rear deck. They are the couple who lost their 9 day old son who was a preemie to a virus a few months back. They are just a sweet GOD loving couple and we have known her since she was once best friends with Kallie Dalton and actually lived with them for months. They are doing fine and Jake is a masterful jack of all trades with his construction, fabrication and design skills with metal and wood working. They are flipping a huge house with awesome views on the parkway which will bring them a good price from all of their hard work. We taught them a couple of new card games of which they love to do instead of watching TV. They have no friends their age who play games so they were thrilled to visit our house and now us visiting them. I'm sure we will become good friends over the coming years. We played Euchre and the girls won and then a game of Spades which had many ups and downs and the guys finally won after a marathon game. It was going on 10'ish when we headed out for the cabin and to a hot shower and then some horizontal.

Well the weather changed 180 degrees overnight as a real cold front moved in the area after record breaking heat this past week. There is a drizzle of rain dripping from the tin roof and the air is really chilly, LATER

Nancy had her home made quilt hanging on the clothesline which was a perfect day for drying laundry.
