Well the temps have once more headed back up and into the low 80's however the mornings were rather nice as we started off in the low 60's. I opened the house up until late afternoon then it was the a/c back on for the night. We sure could use some rain as the yards are drying up and I'm still hand watering the gardens twice a day. The knee is finally responding to my treatment and I'm walking without any pain and the swelling has decreased to almost nothing as well. I'm still going to take an extra couple days of low physical activity with plenty of sit downs in between so I don't overdo it like last time. Pickle ball is on hold until next week or maybe after Christmas for now. I can ride my bike and walk to get the necessary cardio action and give the knees a break for now.
I started the day earlier than I wanted to as I awakened around 4 'ish and couldn't go back to sleep. I sure miss the heavy workout at the REC, oh well, plus I've been laying around for most of the day with the knee elevated and an ice pack. That seems to be paying off as the knee responding. After my usual cup of green tea with fresh ginger root and some turmeric powder both of which have anti-inflammatory properties I did my quiet moments and the posting of this ramble before eating an apple for my breakfast. That to is helping with a reduction in the spare tire. We did eat a rather large lunch with some leftover shrimp and noodles GG brought. Eliza Faye and I finished that dish along with a piece of frozen pizza Nancy doctored up with fresh mushrooms. She calls noodles "nudies". She is such character and loves this one set of cartoons about African animals which has no talking just a special kind of music. She climbs up on my lap and gives me the biggest grin when she sees and hears the music. We are watching all three kiddos tonight(Friday) as Amy and Tyler attend a deacon function.
I did manage to spend a little time outside with the garden hose, hand watering the gardens. Nancy took a few pictures of the one garden and I will post them at the end of this ramble. I did take off(driving) for the library and picked up three new reads. Nancy, GG and Amy made oatmeal cookies to add to the list of her Christmas cookies she makes each year and hands out to friends, family and neighbors. I did sample a couple of them but I'm trying to hold off on all those baked delights for now. We ate only vegan for supper with fried 'taters, steamed Brussel sprouts and a salad. After the cleanup we settled into the FOX News and learned once more despite the pundits and the drive by media who are now trashing Trump they are actually helping him in the polls. I truly think most Americans are so fed up with the corrupt leadership and lack of concern for US(A) with this Muslim controversy and the killings taken place in our land; so the polls indicate he is way ahead with is brash talk and we Americans want someone to finally take a stand for US(A). I really think we need someone who will stand up for US(A) and our way of life and if it takes him to do so, then I'm with him. I'm so disgusted with our elected officials and their lack of concern for US(A) and what has made US(A) a great nation and that is our Judeo-Christian principles. I really don't care if we are not inclusive of those of different nationalities. Let them stay where they are and if they do choose to come here then they must assimilate to our culture. To my knowledge we aren't forcing anyone to come here, LATER
On a business note there are a few days left until midnight of the 15th to take advantage of the BOGO offer from me and our team leaders at Amway. Every item in the catalog, store and website is two for the price of one. That is especially great for the Ribbon gift albums at this time of the year when we give gifts at Christmas time to family who are out of towners, teachers and pastors. Check it out at our website site; www.amway.com/JNTriplett'
