Friday Morning May 23rd...4 days to go

Well Thursday was a day of mixed emotion as we celebrated Amy's 42nd birthday here in the evening and then I played my last pickle ball matches for this summer with the gang at the Rec. I had started the day with my usual 5'ish rollout to my routines that begin with some quiet time to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort and healing. The list is getting longer now with a couple additions. All are holding but one is very ill and not doing well. I soon headed out to the Rec on my bike for a great workout with all A players and left after an hour and half soaked with sweat and made the bike ride home despite being whupped and worn out. There were lots of hugs and handshakes on the way out with many well wishes. I will miss this almost daily exercise as well as these fine folks. After a little breakfast I headed outside for an hour or so until it became just dad gum hot and muggy.

I did pull up all the marigolds in the front planter as that would save Amy and the gang who will be taking care of the yards from having to do so and then dug up the rest of the carrots which were plentiful. I did some hand watering on the kale and collards which are holding on until I can harvest them to give away at church on Sunday to some folks I promised. The heat is taking it toll but despite wilting during the day they return over night and actually look good. I have the yards in good shape for when Tyler and the grands come over to make the house and yards presentable while we are gone for 5 months. Next door Bobby will park one of his cars in my driveway as well which helps him but makes it look like some one is here as well. He also edges my yards when ever he mows his yard next door.

I spent the afternoon doing some piddly inside jobs as we start to assemble things we will be packing and make arrangements to shut down some things here and open some things up at the cabin. We will be busy the next couple of days before packing the truck on Monday evening as we have Ava's graduation ceremony this evening at our church which allows Keswick School to use our large auditorium and then on Saturday we will travel to USF in Tampa for Sam's jiu jitsu competition and then head to Patrick and Kathryn's for dinner. Sunday will be our last service at S.R.B.C. for 5 months and then more packing that will occur until the graduation party for Ava from 3-6 PM in south St Petersburg. Monday is the final day of putting the house in order then packing the truck after dinner at Amy's house. So it will be non stop thinking ahead and getting the house ready to leave for the summer. I'm so looking forward to cooler temps as it been down into the upper 40's a couple morning but not much over the upper 70's for highs, WOW will I ever be thrilled with that, LATER
