Saturday Morning in Florida

Well Friday once again was HOT and MUGGY for most of the day, but I must confess the early morning temps here are ideal. I did and hour or so at the rec for some great pickle ball play and because I'm still entertaining a head cold with a runny nose and sneezing I decided not to run down my strength by over exercising. I made a quick stop at the library on the way home for a couple reads to take with me to the mountains.

The morning started much the usual with a 6'ish rollout and after my quiet moments and the posting of this ramble. I headed off on my bike and was back home by 9'ish. I transplanted into the garden some tomato, cucumber, hot pepper and marigold seedlings that I had brought back from the cabin that were volunteers in my compost pile. Hopefully they will get enough moisture to keep them growing for the next 5 weeks. They survived this week in small pots so the heat didn't seem to bother them.

Amy, GG and the kiddos came for lunch and Eliza Faye is just so cute as we played together. Sam is feeling better and was full of energy. We said good-bye to GG as Amy dropped her off at her house on her way to pick up Ava from school. We will watch the kiddos Saturday evening so Amy and Tyler can get away for an evening out. We will make supper at their house and play with them before we head out in the wee hours of the morning on Sunday for our trip back to the cabin. I got interested in the playoff baseball game and saw the Orioles come back in the last inning and go two up on the Tigers in the best of 5 games.

We headed out at 6 for the Botbyl's as we were having a house church get together with the Tracy's and us. Kathryn made a delicious lasagna, Nancy made a huge salad and crusty bread and Carol had a delicious pumpkin pie. A little vino flowed as well. The meal was awesome and the Euchre play afterwards was even better as the guys threw caution to the wind and won the best 2 out of 3 games over the gals. It was close to 10 when we headed out for the walk home. We hopefully will see them all again towards the second week in November for another big get together.

Well after a hot shower and a few baseball playoff moments into the late game I felt the sandman calling and was soon out like a light. A severe thunderstorm awaken us in the night with lightning, thunder and a torrential down pour, yikes that was some storm. Today, Saturday finds us getting ready for the early morning trip north and then over to Amy and Tyler's in the early evening. I will be away from this venue for a day or so, LATER
