The temps have finally dropped from the sub-tropical to almost normal for at least a day or so. Thursday found us with a much cooler and breezy day compared to what we have been having. The wind was from the northeast and it was actually a little chilly due to the lack of humidity. I would say it reached the low 70's for a high so I aired out the house with the windows and doors open.
The day started much the usual with a before 6'ish roll out for me. I did my usual routine of a cup of green tea, a few quiet moments, the posting of this ramble before having a lite breakfast and then riding out to the rec around 7:20 or so. There were just 2 of us players for the first few moments at pickle ball but then we had 4 and then shortly afterwards we had 2 courts in full action by 8 AM. The play was for the advanced players the first 2 hours and we had a good mix. Lots of wet shirts due to the continuous fast play. I headed out around 10 with a soaked shirt for a quick stop at the library before heading home.
Nancy was at the doctors office for her yearly women's checkup so I piddled around in the garden sowing some replacement seeds and then hand watering until lunch time. Amy, Sam and GG came for lunch and then afterwards they all took off around 2. Nancy and GG went to the mall and Amy and Sam headed home. I sat out in the back yard under the big oak as it was that nice and read for a couple hours. That helped to keep the pesky squirrels from digging in my garden as they go into hiding as soon as they see me.
Nancy and GG got back around 5'ish so we had pork chops on the grill along with some fresh green beans and yellow rice. After the cleanup we drove GG home and then made a Home Depot stop. Nancy commented she was chilled in the night air as the outside temp was 65. I thought it was just perfect and would have been a good night for outside activities. We tuned into the Fox News channel and watched some of our favorites; Greta, O'Reilley and then Megyn before I headed off to the shower. I tuned into the last of the Lightning game with the Red Wings and it was tied when I decided it was lights out for me around 10:30, LATER
