Well Sunday afternoon was a very interesting day after an early start for me as I was up at 5'ish and out the door to the college to help with the load in for BridgePoint Church. Today was our one year anniversary to the day for our Seminole campus and we have double our attendance from that first date. We had helium filled balloons for the kiddos as well cupcakes and of course our weekly free donuts, coffee and bottled waters. It was quite a day and the message that our lead pastor Tim delivers is so inspiring and goes so fast you don't want it to end. The message is still a video but everything else is live and in house.
We got back to the house going on 1PM when it began to cloud up and strong winds approached the area and then all of a sudden it poured rain in sheets and then lightning struck a power pole in the neighbors yard causing the house to suddenly go completely dead; powerless. Well we called on Nancy's cell phone and got through to Duke Energy and around 5 'ish a large truck came by and reset with a new fuse on the transformer which once again gave us power. It blinked one time after that but we are back with everything running in good order. Thankfully the transformer did not have to be replaced as there was no way except by hand for replacing it as the back yards where completely unaccessible by this huge truck with a boom, oh well.
We stayed home and read and watched this line if storms hit the area with much needed rain and the wind was so fierce as well. I noticed a few smaller branches from the back yard oak in the yard despite having it trimmed a couple weeks ago. What a storm with tornado warning throughout the state as it moved from the Gulf to the Atlantic. I did finish a good read by Evan Hunter a.k.a. Ed McBain titled Criminal Conversation. A real page turner and a surprising end to the book. We didn't do much after getting the power back and skipped any supper after the huge Chef salad for lunch except for a hand full of mixed nuts with my glass of vino around 6'ish. I found some playoff hockey on the tube and watched that until lights out for me at 10'ish, LATER
