Wednesday

Well Tuesday found us once again with high humidity and quite warm temps up in to the 80's and lots of rain clouds but no rain. The garden sure seems to like this type of weather except for late afternoon when the cold weather plants begin to show some wilting. Needless to say I'm hand watering twice a day and I'm lucky to have a shallow well with plenty of water.

The morning started around a 6 'ish roll out to a cup of green tea, a few quiet moments and then a lite breakfast before riding out to the rec on my bike for some 2 plus hours of pickle ball. We had about 10 players with 2 courts going that were all fairly well matched and the play was fast with lots of rallies. The wet shirts were everywhere. Afterwards I headed home as I had some books on order from the library and they hadn't arrived as of yet.

I worked in the garden transplanting some lettuce seedlings as well as hoed weeds that have already started to show some colors. It looks as if the new seedlings are really starting to add some growth and I will soon be enjoying some of those fresh veggies. The beet greens and arugula are really for the salad bowl; and the Swiss chard will soon be ready for the saute pan. The tomatoes are setting fruit as well.

Amy and Sam brought GG for a lunch of salad and I made a huge bowl of guacamole. Yeow is that ever some fine eatin' with some taco chips. Amy says my concoction is the best ever and I must say its better than any I have eaten out. The secret is a little fresh squeezed garlic and minced sweet onion along with some olive oil, cilantro, a squeezed lemon or lime with salt and pepper to taste and of course a couple ripe avocados. After lunch I retreated to the computer room for some reading and finished up the book LOST GIRLS about the Long Island serial murders that has not as of this date been solved. It was a good read and well written by Robert Kolker.

Nancy had a some venison marinating for supper which I grilled to go along with brown rice and fresh green beans. Yeow there is nothing like fresh(frozen) venison which was harvested by our mountain buddy Caleb Dalton this fall in Illinois. Many thanks to him and his dad, Andy for providing this delicacy. After the cleanup we settled in to watch the Fox news channel and once again learned this present administration is somewhat less than honest about the policies they have and are promoting and how the main stream media in no longer reliable about their reporting or investigative journalism of them.

After O'Reilly it was time for the showers and then to read until lights out around 10:30, LATER
