Well the Ross Family got in around 11 last evening after a long trip from Colorado and it was an exciting reunion for Rocky as he went wild with enthusiasm for their return. It was long past midnight when every thing quieted down enough to get some shut eye. Many thanks to ALL who kept them in your thoughts for safe travel.
I had started the day on Tuesday with my usual well before 6 rollout to my routines that begin with some quiet time to honor my lord, Jesus after posting this ramble and then to give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort and healing, all seem to be holding with this post. I checked the gardens for deer and slug damage and didn't see much of either except a grasshopper had eaten down a couple lettuce seedlings yesterday. I'm finally seeing some color in the row of kale I sowed as well as in the beet row. Both of these are super foods and so good for you especially for Nancy with her high BP.
We headed to Sparta to pickup some bread she had ordered from Becca's and then a stop at Walgreens and finally at Food Lion once again to stock up. The cupboards and freezers are filling up once again as we prepare for these couple of days of feeding the Ross Family and then Bobby and family arrive in two weeks for a week. There goes the waist line again but its so much fun and the excitement with the family being here as well as some friends. The friends Dan and Carol won't be staying with us for a change as they are with their daughters family in a rental in Sparta, but we will certainly be entertaining them during that week.
We got back on the mountain around 1'ish after a final stop at the meat market for more produce which I sure hope gets eaten. We ate lite as were having shrimp and pasta for our supper later in the evening. I piddled around outside setting up the badmitton net and did some hand watering of the gardens after a delicious meal. I did set and read for a couple hours on the porch as it was just a gorgeous day with bright sunshine and temps in the low 70's after a chilly start to the morning. We did play a game of hand, knee and foot and I even up the scoring with a win. Speaking of a win the Ray's finally won against a Chicago team in their home field with a walk off homer, LATER
