Well Wednesday saw the return of some heat and humidity enough that we turned the a/c back on but the morning and evening where nice to work outside. It was a rather mundane day except for the workout at the rec. and then watching the Lightning win in New Jersey over the Devils to take a 3-1 lead in the playoffs.
I started the day after a rather uneasy night after the ball game on Tuesday. I had difficulty falling asleep and then over slept for a really unusual occurrence until nearly 7'ish. I thought I would be exhausted after the sleepless night but felt refreshed after the work out on the pickle ball court for two hours. We said good-bye to a Canadian friend and new church attender, John and Ann who left out for their home until next November. We had really enjoyed his play on the court and they really fitted right in at church as well as bringing several of their neighbors and family through out the winter.
I worked outside until lunch time feeding the new tree, sod plugs and what's left of the garden. I harvested the last of the bibb, romaine and black seeded thompson lettuces but I'm still getting some Chinese cabbage and kale for salads. The tomato's are turning almost instantly and I'm picking them before they turn red as the fruit flies are really wrecking havoc this year. I even picked several large green ones and put in a brown paper bag with a green banana to help with their turning. I understand the gases from the turning banana help with this process. I'm losing one for every two I find in the tomato plant which has such thick foliage.
Amy and Eliza Faye came for lunch and then afterwards I grabbed a quick nap while reading until supper time. I grilled bone in pork chops slathered with fresh rosemary and Nancy had fresh broccoli on the stove. I'm maintaining around the 180 mark give or take a pound depending on the time of the day. I've stayed away from the heavy carbs and eat big at lunch instead of the late evening, LATER
