Well this month is moving right along as we have completed another week and our time here in the mountains grows shorter each day. It did warm up a bit after some damp chilly overcast days. It did not get as cold as predicted but we still are wearing long pants which to be is an indicator of winter weather. The sun broke through for a few minutes in the late afternoon but fog is still in the mountain tops. It was an afternoon of watching the Ray's play awesome ball as they stayed their elimination from the playoffs for another day against the Astros.
I started the day with my usual 6'ish roll out to a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble then spent some quiet time with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting up several. All seem as well as can be expected due to their ages and health issues. I haven't received any info on the passing of a cousin who is near death but I just hope now that hospice has intervened she is no longer in pain. All of us will face these issues and events so we must make the most while we are able and still in control of our faculties.
I got in a quick hike to the top of the mountain the first thing before breakfast and then again a much longer hike with Nancy before lunch. I need this exercise as we have been eating "high on the hog" as an old saying goes. We ate out at the Tracy's again last evening a specialty dish of chicken with herbs over pasta and a salad as well as homemade tiramisu for dessert. Wow what a delicious dinner. We got there around 1'ish and stayed until nearly 8 as we rooted for the Ray's who were at home at the Trop in St.Petersburg. Son in law Tyler and grandson Sam went to the game and posted lots of pics of their first ever playoff game. The Ray's won big as their bats exploded with 4 home runs with a 10-3 victory. They play again to day so all of the gang will be here at the cabin for supper and to watch the game. I'm sure we will play some games as well afterwards and Kathryn once again is making a specialty dessert as we celebrate Patrick turning 70 this month. I'll grill steaks for the occasion.
That was about it for the day as we watched a couple other games and the Braves have their matchup now tied as well as the Nationals. The Ray's have to win one more to take the series to a one game playoff. Lets hope they pull that off and make it to the finals, LATER
