Well Thursday found us once again in Galax to do some shopping which took up the better part of the morning after our usual routines. We got some good news if you can call it that for Eddie as he did have some voluntary movement in one of his legs but on a down side he now has developed pneumonia. They are giving him some physical therapy which leaves him exhausted. We are planning on going to Winston on Saturday for a visit. It seems as if he makes a couple steps of progress but then is pushed back with another malady. He is still intubated which leaves a few limited forms of communication and Kimberly suggested making an ABC'S board to present to him so we can have some limited conversations.
The temperatures were once again exhilarating as I exited the cabin to start the day after my usual morning routine(s). The gardens are looking good and I found only a couple slugs to do away with after once again tearing down the nest the bird is trying to build in the peak. I still don't have any corn or taters up and I'm wondering that maybe the seeds were to old. We finally got a decent rain shower last evening as it washed out our pickle ball play outside so we headed to the church where we had to remove and then again set the chairs back up after playing. We had 5 players and the wet shirts were evident. I was bushed after 2 hours as it was a bit warm in the building but a couple of the new players have really picked up on this game.
I'm still restricting my caloric intake with just one meal a day so we had our big meal around 3 PM after getting back from town. I actually think or feel as if my pants are a little looser. We stopped and visited with Heglar's on our way in to the cabin who were up for just the day mowing their yards. We chatted for nearly an hour and they seemed to of had a good winter health wise. We finished up the smoked ribs dinner leftovers then headed out for our daily hike to the top of the mountain. I piddled around in the gardens until it was time to head out for pickle ball at the church and picked up Ted in a really heavy rain at his house on the way there.
Well that was about it after a rather uneventful day. The hot shower felt great on these old aching muscles and it wasn't long until I hit the sack and read until the sandman called, LATER
