Well Saturday was another beautiful day with humidity almost null and void and the temps did reach the low 80's but with the nice breeze we had the windows open until late afternoon when Nancy got to warm, so the a/c is back on, but the 3 days it was off was nice. It's basically like that at the cabin with the windows and doors open and the fresh air makes it awesome.
The day started out with a 6'ish roll out to my usual cup of hot green tea now heated on the stove instead of the microwave. You never really miss something so mundane as a microwave until its gone. I know Amy lost hers a few months back before they got a new one and Tyler installed it and now I'm thinking I'll get him sometime next week to help me install my new one. It's hard for one person to hold it in position and hook up the fasteners. Ava helped him as she has grown so tall and strong.
The grand kiddos wanted a family bike ride on the Pinellas trail so they all brought bikes and while there were 10 of us we stayed apart on the ride in the bright sunshine and then came back and stayed outside in the yard under the big oak while I grilled hot dogs for our lunch. We all gave air hugs and stayed apart as much as possible. The bike ride was a long one up the trail to Taylor Park and back which was probably close to 4-5 miles one way. We had the one steep climb over Ulmerton road but other than that if was basically a flat ride. We were gone at least 2-3 hours on the ride. Nancy didn't go and made peanut butter cookies while we were gone.
The Triplett kiddos left around 2 for home as Katie had the boys by herself. It seems her folks are getting much better and will soon be off quarantine from the virus and in a week or so be able to give her some relief. We are planning on helping at least twice a week as soon as Katie goes back to work later this month. They were planning on the boys being in day care but that has now changed since this virus has made everyone skeptical of who is carrying the virus. So we will go over Tue. and Fri. to spent the day and care for the little fellers.
I got some sad and very unexpected news from our friends who once lived on the top of our mountain. FB identified Ann Cline as having a birthday and as always I wished her Happy Big Day and best wishes for her husband Sandy. Well she wrote back that Sandy had passed away Feb.10th. I was shocked to hear this news as I had no idea he had suffered another brain bleed and passed away. He was always a friendly and cordial feller as is Ann his wife. We sat on their back porch many times over the last 25 years talking about life, kids, grandkids and gardening. They shared lots of their bounty from their home garden down off the mountain and was amazed that I could garden here(mountains) as well as Florida. We saw him last summer for a few moments when they came up to visit the neighbors on top of the mountain after selling their place a few years ago.
Well I watched some You Tube videos of a sailing yacht that travels in the Indian Ocean. The islands are just beautiful and the dive photos of the underwater are so vivid and picturesque. I love the sound or lack there of a sailing boat cutting through water and have always wanted to crew a boat traveling among the various islands and land stops off the coast of Africa and South American. This one boat travels everywhere and has videos of everyday life as well as their visits to these ports of call. Very interesting and its living life vicariously through their adventures which is a lot less expensive than actually being on board.
I skipped supper as the lunch was somewhat late and very large as we had grilled dogs, fresh cucumbers, radishes, olives, tater chips and peanut butter cookies. Nancy and I took another bike ride as the evening cooled down through the hood until close to 8. I did watch the live briefing that Trump and his team gave around 5'ish on the virus and some of the questions the reporters ask were so immature its unbelievable these folks were being credited as journalists. They have been nothing but filled with the TDS that its so distasteful to say the least. I headed into the shower around 9'ish then it was lights out a little after 10, LATER
