Rainy Tuesday Morning

Well if I can complain it's because the rain hasn't stopped since sometime Sunday afternoon. All day on Monday it rained. No gully washers but a constant somewhat cold rain with temps getting up around 50 for the day. We are sunshine people and this is just another reminder why we wouldn't want to live here year round especially in the winter. We love the mountains, cabin and of course the folks here but not these days on end of overcast skies, rain and foggy conditions which keep us inside. We want to go out side and play(work for me), oh well the forecast is for the same for the rest of the week and we are seriously thinking about leaving a day earlier than planned. We are getting cabin fever and starting to mildew as well.

Monday started with rain and ended with rain. Somehow I love the sound of it on the tin roof for sleeping with warm snuggly flannel sheets; but I'm over sleeping in for now. We are adjusting to the time change except by 9 'ish I'm fighting to stay awake which is 10'ish by the old standard; of course I'm awake now at 5'ish in the morning and must force myself to listen to the rain on the tin roof in hopes it will put me back to sleep, oh well! We seldom ever have whole days of never seeing the sun in Florida and now it's been since Saturday afternoon when we last caught a glimpse of the ball of fire. It's been dullsville since then and the loss of more leaves gives the landscape a rather stark and dark aura as well. There are a few leaves hanging on to add some color as well as the colorful Zinnias but that's about it.

We spent the day reading, eating leftovers and on the social media. I finished Willie Nelson's autobiography and it was a good read. He is into his early 80's and on his fourth wife with several children. He is a great song writer and many of his songs were recorded by some of the most popular singers of our time especially in country music. He was a big supporter of Jimmy Carter and once spent the night in the Lincoln Bedroom in the White House. Many of his ideas are very liberal or to the left of the conservative ideology especially with the use of marijuana. He started out from a broken home but was raised by a very strong believer in the Christian ideals of his grandmother. He and his sister are very close and were musically gifted. His story is very interesting from living in poverty to opulence as he succeeded in the music world.

I tuned into the FOX Cable News and then the MNF where the Panthers whupped the Colts and are undefeated in their season, LATER
