Well Thursday turned out to be a beautiful day with almost perfect temps after a chilly morning and overcast skies. It was a total work day for me as Nancy was gone for half the day at the beauty shoppe getting her hair colored and cut and then some last minute items from the grocery for our guests coming in this afternoon. I got in 2 hikes one was a short version and then we took the longer hike before supper together.
I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble then spent some quiet time with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting several up by name for healing and comfort during this time of their needs and ailments. All seem as well as can be expected. I'm also lifting up our Potus Trump and those who love this nation, our culture and our Judeo-Christian values and who are conservative in their thinking as well as those who hate the thought of killing innocent unborn babies and for the safety of our military members and the law enforcement family. I pray the unjust will be exposed for their corruption and those who attempted to subvert our constitution will be expelled and rightly adjudicated for their attempts to undermine the rule of law. We all must pray that GOD will intervene in keeping our Potus safe from these who harbor such hate and resentment for a man who was duly elected and is exposing the real threat to this nation by an attempted coup by the liberal democrat party and the biased main stream media. I honestly think it was by the help of GOD who got this man elected to the presidency to save our nation from those who want to destroy the America as we once knew her.
I did two loads of laundry and hung both outside on the clothesline as the warm sunshine and gentle breeze made for a great day of drying outside. I fired up the riding lawn mower after a short hike to the top of the mountain which made for two steep climbs and then back down the golf cart trail all in about 15-20 minutes. I mowed all of the yards except the backwoods yard and then weed whacked those areas the mower couldn't reach. Afterwards I took the leaf blower and cleaned a couple areas along the driveway which was covered in dropped leaves. That kept me busy until lunch time when Nancy got back from her errands in Sparta.
After lunch I headed out to work in the gardens. Taking out the old dying cucumber vines and the three tomato plants which had given us a dozen or so tomato's for the season. It just was not a good year for tomato's here this year. The cherry tomato's in the back yard garden is still producing a few for the salads but the ones in the flower beds which came up from the compost pile dirt are still looking vibrant and producing a couple every couple of days. The jalapeno peppers are finally producing and the recently transplanted lettuce seedlings should give us some leaves for the salads in a few days. I still do not see any bulbs under the turnip plants but the greens look good and healthy. I'm hoping the deer will stay away from the beets and kale as they are once again looking like they can add to the salad bowl.
We had some leftovers for supper which were delicious then settled into game 5 of the Rays vs Astros and the Ray's lost after giving up 4 runs in the first inning. They just could not hit their ace pitcher except for 1 home run. Well they went down in defeat with several other good teams which had better records and their payrolls were twice what the Ray's players make. It was a good year for no name players who played like it was for fun with their excitement and team pride, LATER
