Well Sunday was another overcast damp day with very little sunshine except towards the evening when we were off the mountain and saw the sun briefly for a few moments; but out mountain was socked in with fog. The dampness is pervasive and chilly so Nancy had the faux fireplace on which does take the chill off the room. It was also a good day of worship at Cornerstone and to start the day at BridgePoint on line. We met Mechelle afterwards for lunch at the Pizzeria.
I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my cup of hot green tea which was welcoming on this damp chilly morning. The fog had the cabin enclosed in the white mist which caused the water to be dripping from the roof while I posted this ramble then spent some time with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting several by name. I have a cousin who is about to pass away and who is several years my junior and is married to one of my classmates. She has severe diabetes and is now in a semi-comma and hospice is just giving her a couple of days. Everyone else is doing as well as can be expected.
We got ready and headed out to Cornerstone for the first time in two weeks as we have been traveling and then last weekend had company. It was good to reconnect with our church family there and then we headed into town to eat lunch at the local pizzeria where their salad bar is awesome and really they must have changed their menu on pizzas prep as they were great for a change. They were as good as JB's which is usually the best around in the area. We headed home after waddling out from salad and pizza and I settled into the NFL. I haven't heard or seen any disrespect towards the anthem this year which helps with watching these over paid athletes who make enormous amounts of money to entertain us and then makes stupid moves and mistakes which costs the team any chance of a victory. The Buc's are a great example as once again they prove themselves to be the hapless bumbling bunch of ball players with another loss, oh well.
I took off on a hike to the top of the mountain and did the whole usual route. The mountain was socked in with fog so there were no distant views off the mountain. I did the whole hike without stopping and now this week I need to get back to at least 2 a day especially since we are eating high on the hog with family coming and our friends meeting daily at either our abode or their cabin; plus we are scheduled for a trip to Boone/Blowing Rock where we will dine out there as well. That was about it for the day until early evening when we headed over to the Luffman's for supper. The ouster stew, apple salad, salsa and chips and pumpkin pie where all delicious and afterwards we played some Sequence where the guys with Mechelle's help won 3 in a row. It was going on 8 when we headed out for the cabin and I tuned into the the playoff game with the Dodgers vs Nationals and the LA team came back from being down to win big when their bats exploded, LATER
Nancy caught me chilling while watching some NFL. Notice the long pants and the fireplace burning this chilly damp evening.
