Tuesday

Brrr this AM with temps nearly in the 30's. Monday started out with rain that fell throughout the night and into the mid morning hours and the temps stayed in the low 60's for the high. It did clear off and my rain gauge measured nearly 2 1/2 inches of much needed rain. We decided since it was a nearly stay in the cabin day we would head to the library for a couple new reads with a stop afterwards at the new meat market that is scheduled to open on Wednesday in Sparta. We checked out their products and its Black Angus meat that is cut up there. That will be a nice change as now most of the large grocery stores sell their meat pre-packaged and will not grind for the customer. It's a brand new building and it has a variety of products along with seafood as well which is frozen. I noticed Mahi-Mahi frozen into steaks which is an awesome seafood, anyhow we are looking forward to checking them out.

We took off for town after our quiet time and a lite breakfast. Matt our rural mailman had delivered our 2 weeks of mail to our box which he had been holding for us. We stayed away from the bread shoppe until Amy and Tyler come next week as that place is partially the culprit for my spare tire. I've tried to cut down on my consumption of white things the past few days and included an apple a day into my diet as well as to reduce the size of my portions. Hopefully that works. I did pop some corn last night while watching our Tampa Bay Rays defeat the Red Soxs in a close game to stay in the playoff picture. What a game that was and our Tyler was there at the Trop to witness the 5-4 win in the bottom of the 9th inning. GO RAYS!!!

Nancy is still fighting this head cold or allergies but seems a little better this morning. Gerald(neighbor) came by briefly and we are playing pickle ball on Tuesday evening at Cornerstone with several other guys. That's about it for our first full day back. I did manage to pull a few weeds and give what's left of the plants in the garden a shot of Miracle Grow the deer haven't totally consumed. The spinach looks as if we may get a little to accent a salad or two and the peppers are still blooming and producing. Two of the collards are looking nice with two of them dead and shriveled up; that is a mystery to me why they never made.

I'm looking at the windows in the cabin as I write this ramble and they are covered with condensation. It's that nippy outside. Yikes we may have frost soon if these temps get any colder and I may have to lite the gas heater. Nancy has the oven on this morning to take the chill off. The difference in Seminole and here is 30+ degrees this AM, Yeow. We are dressed for warmth and it feels good compared to being dressed for too much heat and humidity. I slept much better last night with the stillness and the quilt on the bed, LATER
