Monday Morning ...Half of February is gone!!

Well Sunday which was Valentine's Day was a busy day with lots of fellowship, doing a good deed and celebrating with our small group a magnificent supper and of course we started the day off with worship at Bridgepoint Church in St. Pete.

The day started much the usual with a 6'ish roll out for me and Nancy soon followed as we were meeting with our small group at our house to ride to church together. Seem I have the only vehicle big enough to carry us all together. This 15 minute trip sure beats the nearly hour trip to Tampa. We took a small tour of an area afterwards that we hadn't been to in years. The worship service was awesome and our new pastor Tim Whipple is a great speaker and on point. We met him and some of the staff afterwards and introduced ourselves and made it know we wanted to be in on the plans for a church plant in Seminole. They have started a plant in east St.Pete as well which starts the end of the month. We feel very good about our decision to make this our home church when in Florida as has the rest of our small group.

Dan was leading worship at the nursing home in Seminole at 2 o'clock so Patrick and I joined him in pushing wheelchairs to the 30 minute or so service. We have done that for years and its a humbling experience. Many of our old patients have gone on to meet the Lord and we hoped our small gesture of love and concern made a difference in their lives as we sang and heard a word with them during their infirmity. One of the first patients we saw was a neighbor Susan Stephenson who was our very first babysitter for Bobby and eventually Amy. Their whole family were close to us and now she and Wade have some severe health issues so much so he can't take care of her. She seemed happy to see us and of course we her.

We were meeting at 5 o'clock at Dan and Carol's house for supper so I harvested lots of fresh greens and made a fresh garden salad while Nancy visited her mom who was under the weather. She missed all of the supper on Saturday because of a cold. I thawed out some already cooked shrimp and made a cocktail sauce, Kathryn made a delicious dill and kale dip as well as brought a couple pounds of Alaskan King Crab already split, yikes its been years since we last tasted them and they were delicious as we dipped them in warm drawn butter and Carol had a skillet of fried rice which was very tasty as well. Needless to say we were too full to play any games so we took a long walk through the 'hood as the night was perfect for a hike. We decided to call it a night around 8'ish so we headed home with full bellies, LATER   Here is a full belly photo of our small group!!
