Well Monday was nothing like the daily routine we are use to, except for the early morning roll out a little before 6. Nancy was gone for most all of the day at the hospital with her mother, GG. Eric and Betsy her brother and sister were there as well for much of the day and our niece Arianne and her husband Erroll were there for the first part of the morning before heading back to Miami. I did my quiet times and had a lite breakfast before heading out to the rec on my bike for a good 2 hours of pickle ball. I needed a workout after once again eating "high on the hog" Friday and Saturday nights. I'm still within a pound or so of my original goal which I want to take to the mountains with me. There I will be on my feet more and outside with all of the "hill walking" and garden projects. None of this laying around reading for hours at a time during the day, so that should help keep the pounds down and inches away from the spare tire.
We had a good turn out of pickle ball players with a challenge court and by 10 my shirt was soaked and I was really for a cooling down period. I came back home to find Nancy on her way out to the hospital and she stayed there until nearly 5 when she and Eric came for supper. I put on a pot of fresh garden collards about 11o'clock and used my new recipe which I must say was fabulous which everyone else concurred also. I grilled Sockeye Salmon and made a large bowl of guacamole to start the gastric juices flowing while we partook of a little "fruit of the vine". Along with baked sweet taters and a salad with my fresh garden tomato's we dined. All of my salad material from the garden is gone except for the new leaves on the beet and kale seedlings and the way they are growing I maybe able to harvest a few leaves from them before we leave for the cabin.
After the cleanup we all headed back to the hospital to see GG as she was admitted to the ICU floor. We made a quick stop at the Botbyl's house so Nancy could console Carol as her mother, Jessie lay dying. Hospice has been a big help in this situation and now it's just a matter of time as she has been comatose for days. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family as Carol has been the sole care giver for months to her mother. We will be facing that situation as well as Jessie and GG are the same age.
GG looked so much better since the blood transfusions and seemed like her old self once again. The doctors are still trying to locate why and where she is losing blood so today(Tues) they will go down her esophagus and possible up the other end to see if there is any bleeding. She was informed the damage to the heart was very minimal and was caused by the lack of blood the heart was trying to pump which wasn't there in abundance. Seems this cardio doctor was very dissatisfied with the Humana Doctors who were treating her especially failing to determine she was having low blood count. I had personally taken her a couple times in the past weeks for this weird feeling she was having with dizziness and weakness in her legs, but now with the addition of blood her color is back and she sounds great and wants to go home. Well we stayed and visited with her until 8:30 then headed home to watch the Ray's beat up on the Red Sox's 5-1.
That was about it for the day except for these very sensitive molars I had prepped for crowns last Wednesday. I'm back to taking pain meds on a regular basis once again as the ache has returned. I will be seeing an endontist hopefully tomorrow to determine if I need one or two root canals, yikes what luck we have had this year with dental work. I think these are the last two teeth I have to deal with as this has really been very annoying and costly, Oh well, LATER
