Well I must say Saturday was a beautiful day weather wise although it did get a bit warm by late afternoon but we had all the 5 grand kids here from about 11 until after 7 and then GG came for supper so she could visit with all of us as well.
The morning started with us sleeping in until 7'ish as we had been up after midnight the night before. After our quiet moments and a couple soft boiled eggs for me I headed out to piddle around in the garden and clean the gutter of leaves. The leaves are falling like rain but I don't see where any are missing from the trees. I know it's too early for the new buds to be appearing but maybe that cold snap we had a couple weeks ago has them confused, oh well. Needless to say leaves are everywhere. Nancy hung a couple loads of laundry on the line as it was going to be a perfect day for that with a nice breeze although it was quite warm. We got ready for the kiddos with a lunch of deli meats, cheeses and chips. Little Eliza is still fighting that cold despite some medicine but she seemed to perk up a bit after playing with all of the other kiddos.
We took the kiddos to the Milinum Park for a walk on the nature trail and then to the playground where we hoped they would wear themselves out. (It seems the reverse occurred by the time they all headed for home). We climbed the tall tower that is a couple stories in height that looks out over the intercoastal waterway and Ava read the markers that depicted the plant and animal life that is indigenous to this area. We worked up a good thirst and then and even bigger one as they headed for the playground equipment. We(Bobby and I) chased them, pushed them on the swings and play "it" hoping to wear them out. We headed for the a/c around 3'ish and then they ate once again dips, chips and ice cream sandwiches before Bobby started with his homemade pizza operation.
He had the dough rising in plastic bags all day and he started on making the green pesto sauce and of course a red sauce. We had fresh bacon along with mushrooms and caramelized red onions and the sauces were the best tasting ever with fresh garlic, spinach, parsley, basil and red peppers. Most of that was blended into the sauces with 3 different toppings as the kiddos got to choose their flavors. I envisioned this is the type of pizza made the old Italian way. The crust would have been a meal in and of itself. Nancy bought mozzarella cheese so thick it had to be sliced and placed on the dough for baking. Needless to say that was a delicious meal along with a fresh garden salad and none was leftover. After the cleanup which was indeed needed after chef Bobby uses your kitchen we settled into some NFL playoff game and then the kiddos all needed baths before heading out in their pj's. They would all be asleep in no time as they traveled the nearly hour ride to Brandon. Amy and her kiddos left shortly thereafter for their home just 10 minutes or so away. They too all had baths and their pj's on as well.
I too headed for the shower and settled in to watch the second playoff game and managed the first half of it before the sandman calleth, LATER Seems we forgot to bring the camera but Bobby had his phone and tagged us on Facebook in some photos if your interested.
