Tuesday Morning August 3rd

Well Monday was a total work day as I spent 2 hours on the riding mower and then another hour with the weed whacker trimming the property and then another couple hours expanding the berry patch. I took some of the sod and patched in some deep ruts in the back woods yards. The day was perfect for being outside working.

I started the day much the usual with a 6 ish roll out to my cup of hot tea while I posted this blog and then spent some quiet time with my Creator and Lord giving thanks and lifting several up by name. All are holding as I make this post. I got in my before breakfast non stop solo hike to the top of the mountain and then we together got in a hike just before lunch to the top. We stopped and chatted with the Crouse workers; Larry and Brandon who are replacing the deck on one of the houses on top. It was good to see them again and they will be there for at least a week. They still do good work and are in demand here in this area and we helped them get this job out here on the mountain as well as several jobs. They are truly good folks which comes naturally for most of these mountain folks.

We did sit and read awhile after a fresh garden salad for lunch. The garden is still producing some leafy greens for salads as well as the green beans are a day or so away from harvesting. The 4 tomato plants are loaded with fruit but none turning yet. I'm getting a couple cucumbers a day and these are delicious in flavor. The squash plant leaves are turning yellow but still loaded with blooms. There are a few small fruits on the plants but I think they may be coming to an end. The green peppers are loaded with fruit as now are the jalapeno peppers. I'm still hand watering to some extent but we are forecasted for a rainy day today. The temps really dropped over Sunday night as it was 55 here this morning.

Well I tuned into the Ray's game last evening after they swept the league leading Red Sox team but this team from Seattle was unbelievable strong. I turned it off at 8-2 as they were kicking the Ray's team all around the field with their hitting and fielding. The Ray's had a let down after that high on Sunday nights game, oh well, LATER
