Well July is gone and now my birth month has arrived an another year, yikes I'll soon be 3/4 th of a century old. Where did those years go? I got a great surprise yesterday afternoon as the builder of this cabin grandson came by for a visit along with is grandmother and younger brother. It was a great time of remembering this young feller who I never thought would live long enough to become the really nice young man he has become because he was a daredevil to say the least. We laughed about his antics growing up mainly under the roof of his grandparents who lived just across the woods from us. I'm honored that he would come back to visit us and bring his brother, girlfriend and grand ma.
I started the day out much the usual with a 6 ish rollout to my usual morning routines that start with the hot tea while I post this ramble and then some quiet time with my Creator and Lord giving thanks and lifting several up by name for comfort and healing. All seem as well as can be expected. Ava Mae finally got back home from Alaska after several delays which caused the group to miss their connecting flights. She loved her two weeks there and want to go back next year if possible. Such a great adventure for her and being on the mission field for Jesus.
I got in my early non stop morning hike and then we took another one around 5'ish just before supper. We stopped and chatted with Roddy and Kathy on top of the mountain but saw no one else as we hiked across the top and down the back road. We has some shrimp and cauliflower rice for our supper which I thought was quite different than one would expect. After supper I tuned into the Ray's game and once again they came from behind to win big over the Red Sox's and now lead their division with some great hitting.
Nancy and I both sat on the front porch for hours reading and what a pleasant day it was as the humidity took a leave and the temps were near perfect, actually we got chilled a couple times with the breeze in the shade. We had a large mountain breakfast with ham, eggs and grits and skipped lunch except for a handful of nuts around 1'ish. I had caught up on most of my garden chores after breakfast so I didn't have much planned except relax and read. The highlight of the day was the hikes and the visit from Carson and his family, Later
