Wednesday Morning..The count down begins..8 days for an ETD

Well it is hot, muggy and the mosquitos are bad her in central Florida along the coast actually about 5 miles as the crow flies from the beach; speaking of which we haven't been to since coming back to Florida last November. I know folks who spend tons of money to come here and we haven't been yet this year, maybe when we come back next Fall.

Well Tuesday found me up at my usual time of before 6 to my usual routines that start with the cup of green tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble and then a few quiet moments with my Creator in humble prayers of thanksgiving and lifting up several by name. All is well with those I normally mention but now a new addition as sister Pat's husband Keith is in the hospital with some urinary infection which they haven't been able to completely identify or found the right cure. Anyhow she and Keith have retired from the ministry and moved from up north back to W.VA. We spoke with Helen and GG but I haven't spoke with Paw Paw in the last couple of days.

I headed out on my bike around 9:30 for the rec. to do a couple miles on the treadmill before heading home as the gym was closed all week to pickle ball and no one wants to play outside in this weather. I'm thinking I'll just go early in the morning as I use to do and workout in the weight room and come back and work outside until noon. I do not like heading out in the middle of the morning to workout at the rec. I'll forgo pickle ball except on Saturday mornings when we have the gym at 8 AM.; but of course I only have a week left, oh well.

We had the Ross Family minus Tyler for lunch and supper as he flew out to D.C. for a couple of nights for his company. I did piddle around in the garden in the early morning and noticed some kale seedlings popping through the ground. Hopefully they will be big enough to transplant at the cabin. The beets and Swiss chard seedlings look great as do the morning glory plants. I'm also taking some Thai basil, a Rosemary plant I started from a cutting and some honeysuckle cuttings which have rooted  and a thyme cutting that has rooted. I'm not sure if the jalapeno pepper is to large but I may cut it back today so as to get it in the truck. The peppers are large and for making poppers which we love. It's such a beautiful plant and it will die if I leave it here, oh well. I usually take a box full of plants with me when we go north.

Well Nancy cooked a pot roast for the Ross Family and they all loved it but have their mother aversion to any fat meat observed on their portions, they are so funny. We ate the last of the home grown carrots in the pot roast and Sam likes them raw as does Ava. We are sure going to miss these kiddos as they now each have such personalities and Eliza is such an actress, oh well. They won't becoming to the cabin this year as they go to Kansas to see Tyler's folks. Bobby will be bringing his gang sometime after the 4th of July and then the parade begins with folks visiting, oh well.

I'm starting to get those sleepless nights as I'm thinking about all that needs to be done here as well as when I get to the cabin. I know it will be grass waist high and the gardens and flower beds loaded with grasses and weeds. I want to have an old friend from my days after first leaving home in '64 visit the first couple weeks or so who lives in Gastonia, N.C. We will have a full schedule this summer and I have so many projects that need to be done plus catch up on some projects for our "mountain mom" plus at least a trip up the valley to see family and then the big trip to Michigan for the wedding and a visit with GG, Nancy's mom who is doing remarkable considering I never thought she would get out of the hospital in Miami. We are blessed in so many ways with so many friends and family, LATER
