Well Monday was an all work day except for the middle of the afternoon when it was just to hot and muggy to even be outside. I skipped pickle ball in the morning for a couple reasons and the biggest is with this new time of having the gym at 10:30 which is when I'm usually home from my early session of play and the second is the lack of good players and only having on MWF half of the gym at 10:30. I may only go on TWS when we at least have the whole gyn, oh well. I started with a before 6 roll out to my usual routines and then headed outside to work until lunch time.
I did my cup of hot tea laced with turmeric while I spent some quiet moments with my Creator while I posted this ramble then lifted up several by name. I've lost two friends to death this past weekend and one was a very close friend at one time when she was just a young girl. She suffered horribly most of her adult life with diabetes which caused her passing. The other was a 1964 classmate at JWHS and a former football player with me. He also was an airman and did a tour in Vietnam and I'm wondering if Agent Orange was the culprit as is with most who suffer from that awesome chemical. I've lost several associates who was exposed to that during their duty to that country.
I clipped shrubs and repaired the gutter as well as transplanted some seedlings to take with me to the mountains for my summer garden next week. The Swiss chard, beets and now I think I saw some kale seedlings popping through the ground, as well as 3 Heavenly Blue morning glory plants. The rest of the garden is starting to be over come with heat except for the peppers, okra, egg plants and my herbs. I will pick the last of the green tomato's as the nematodes and heat have just about killed the last two plants which still have several green 'maters. I'll ripen them in the house.
Well Amy and the kiddos didn't come today since Tyler is leaving for a couple days to D.C. for his job. They will all come for supper tonight as Nancy is fixing a pot roast. I sweated off about 3 pounds yesterday as it was that hot and muggy and hopefully worked off some fat with it. I've worked hard to get down to the 180 mark but in just a week of eating out, huge dinners with friends and desserts I've put back nearly 5 pounds of weight. The breads, chips and desserts are the real killers as all of that turns to sugar and is then stored around the belly for a spare tire.
Well we watched Fox Cable News and then some of the Stanley Cup finals and it looks like the team that beat the Lightning in a 7th game is going to win the cup after a total domination of the Vegas team through two periods last night. Nancy and I did do some cleaning out closets, drawers and packed some tubs to take with us next week to the cabin. It's a slow process of deciding what to take after 7 months and its always we take too much, LATER
