Tuesday Morning

Well the eclipse was a bust for us as we could never find any glasses plus there was some clouds about the time it was showing itself from our view point; it did get some what darker and the temps did seem a little cooler. The pictures from others around the country showed the real thing which was awesome. We even had an eclipse party that lasted from about 1'ish until nearly 8 in the evening with some fine Mexican style eatin' and then some rather raucous Euchre games.

The day started much the usual for me with a 6'ish roll out. I did my routines that started with a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and honey while I did my quiet time and posted this ramble. I spent some time with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting up several by name for healing and comfort in their hour of need. We saw one of our dear friends at church on Sunday for the first time in weeks who is suffering some severe health illnesses and GG seems to have had another good day in Miami as Nancy spoke with her by phone. We had a lite breakfast before heading to the top of the mountain for our daily hike and then we got ready to run some errands in town before being at the Tracy's around 1'ish to start the party.

Kathryn had made guacamole and cheese dip and Nancy brought salsa and chips for our warming up for the big meal around 3'ish or so. The food was delicious and we had something I'd never tried before, stuffed poblano peppers with ground meat as well chicken enchiladas, refried beans and Mexican rice. Yeow what a feed and we had a little vino with the meal as well. Everything was delicious and so fresh and sauces where very tasty.

Well we chilled after eating and cleaning up then got into the best of three games of Euchre and gals beat us in the third game by one point. We spoke with our old friends from Elk Creek who sold out and moved to Nashville. Sam and Marcia sounded good and they had the total eclipse there. We hadn't heard from them since they moved away from Sparta last fall. They are near their son and his wife and he is doing much better with his health issues as well. Kathryn made sopapilla's from scratch for dessert around 7'ish and they were so tasty and to die for with cinnamon and a honey filling. Wow no wonder I can't reduce this spare tire.

Today Patrick and I are climbing the dome at stone mountain park in our area while the girls shop and Nancy gets a hair cut and then we will eat at the local cafe out our way. The weather has been perfect with temps in the low 80's and lots of bright sunshine. The garden is growing like crazy with the beans starting to climb the fence and I can harvest some lettuce to add to our salads. Well that was about it except we did pick up some new reading material at the library which was one of our errands as well as make a dump run to the landfill, LATER
