Well Wednesday was much the same with fantastic weather clear blue skies and plenty of sunshine. It's hard to believe just a few days ago we had the heat on and now we are contemplating the a/c once again. Today saw me doing the usual except placing a 11 pound pork shoulder on the smoker after having it in the oven over night at 200 degrees and then for about 6 hours in the smoker with apple, hickory and some plum wood. The smell from the wood was awesome along with the flavor of the pork.
I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my morning routines of a cup of hot green/ginger tea with some turmeric while I posted this ramble. Then some quiet time with my Creator lifting up many who are hurting as well as giving thanks for my many blessings. Afterwards I got ready to ride out to the Rec. on my bike for and hour and half workout on the pickle ball court and when I left at 9:30 I had a good sweat. I hand watered the gardens then settled in to the redo's on the cabinets. Bobby called and said he was in the 'hood and would come by later for lunch. Amy and Eliza brought GG as well for a lunch of left over soup and sandwiches. I ate and then got back to working in the garage on the cabinet doors; sanding, priming and painting them. I've decided on two coats of the final paint before reinstalling them to their base. Bobby seemed really impressed with how they were turning out and he gave me the name of the granite guy who installs countertops for his houses that he redoes. He is giving us some great ideas on the total kitchen redo which I knew would lead to after painting the cabinets white. That includes everything even new appliances, floors, electrical outlets and lighting as well as changing the color of the walls. I will have my work cut out for me until we had out to the mountains in May.
I stopped somewhere around 4:30 as we were heading over to GG's for a supper with cousin Erica and her 9 kids. Eric rode up from Miami with them and then Amy's family as well as Betsy's family were all there. I think there were 21 people in attendance and the 11 pounds of pulled pork were eaten up as well as the huge baked beans and green bean casseroles all of which Nancy made and then GG had a huge salad as well as the cookies Nancy made. With our kitchen in remodel mode we couldn't have them here besides GG has a bigger living room so it was easier to prepare the food at our house. A good time had by all especially the cousins who played great together. Erica's family leaves on Thursday to go back to Miami.
After the cleanup at GG's it was going on 9 o'clock so we headed out for home. I hit the hot shower and was soon ready for bed around 10'ish. What a busy day and it was good to see Eric, Nancy's brother and his daughter Erica with her 9 kiddos. We usually only see them once a year at the most but it been twice in the last couple of months, LATER
