Monday Morning

Well Sunday was a bit different as we skipped corporate worship at Cornerstone and listen live online to our worship service from Bridgepoint Church in St. Petersburg, Fl. We then got ready to head out with Mechelle with our kayaks to the New River for a float. The skies were cloudy and we encountered some showers on the way there but we had a beautiful dry float for two hours. The beauty of the river and the surrounding vistas is awesome with most of it being GOD's natural beauty.

The day started much the usual with a little after 6'ish roll out for me. I did my morning cup of hot turmeric tea, posted this ramble then spent some time with my Creator giving thanks for another decade and all the blessings and lifting up those I know and love and several who need some special consideration in this their time of need. I did a lite breakfast before we tuned into our home church to listen live on line. We had tentatively made plans with Mechelle to do a float on the New River depending on the weather. The radar showed no storms or heavy rainfall in our area until later in the evening despite it being overcast with gray skies and a lite shower on our way to the river. We had rain poncho's just in case. It was warm and the overcast skies would eventually be a blessing on the river.

We put in and secured another vehicle at the stopping spot and once on the river it was fantastic. The water was a bit muddy due to the heavy rains the past couple of days which actually helped with not getting hung up on the many rocks in the river. We even saw the sun at times which really warmed things up and was glad for the clouds once again to take over. Our float was awesome as we encountered a little white water at times. We love our kayaks and they are so much easier to handle than a canoe. We are now thinking of getting a larger back brace for the seats which with be like setting in a recliner as we float. It was after 1 before we finished and loaded up the three kayaks in the back of our truck then we stopped in Independence for a buffet lunch at the Pizza Plus. They had a very nice salad bar and several types of pizzas's at a reasonable price. The meal held us the rest of the day except for some pop corn around 7'ish.

We got back to the cabin sometime after 4'ish and then we settled into the Olympics until after 10 for me when I called it a day, LATER    I meant to post this picture of us at Cody Creek's Depot on Saturday for a birthday supper with our "mountain mom" Helen, her brother Joe, Eddie in his motorized wheelchair and Kimberly and us. What a neat place and the food was the best ever.
