Monday Morning

Well Sunday turned out to be a great day as recognized our wives, mothers and grand mothers and even our "mountain mom" on this Mothers Day celebration. We did it up right with a huge family supper and get together. More later on the menu for the supper.

We started the day with a 6'ish roll out as both of us were working the balcony area at Bridgepoint Church as greeters, ushers and offering collectors, we have so enjoyed getting plugged in with those volunteers who help make this a successful 10 AM service. They have three more services throughout the day and the volunteer list is huge for the church; we are just a small cog but so enjoy the opportunity to serve. The church was filled to capacity and maybe even the overflow room was being use with a simulcast available, I know the place was like a bee hive as we left and the next service starting just before noon. They also offer an 8:30 service as well as a 6:00 PM evening service. Pastor Tim had an awesome message as well a baby dedication for each service with about a dozen babies in our service. We rode with the Botbyl's as the Tracy's skipped out as Patrick was still coughing and then they dropped us off at GG's as we picked up her car as we both have dual appointments today, Monday.

We made a stop at the new Culver's on the way home for a lite lunch of a double burger which was fabulous and made to order; we actually had a coupon and our lunch for two was less than 6 bucks and oh so good. Afterwards we headed home and started to get ready for the family who was scheduled for a 5:30 sit down meal of; a huge pork roast(bone-in), sauerkraut, kielbasa, Nathan hot dogs, a huge salad and crusty bread as well as a lemon pound cake, brownies and vanilla ice cream. We had a glass of vino before sitting down as we gathered waiting for Bobby and Katie to arrive as they were stuck in a huge traffic jam on the big bridge due to a crash that had it blocked for over an hour, yikes what a mess that was.

We did get to see our Lightning eliminate the New York hockey team from the playoff's with a convincing 4-0 win in the best of seven games and now we await the winner of the D.C. team vs the Penguins as our next team to beat, hopefully and then head to the Stanley Cup finals. Our Ray's team also beat the Angels team from California in straight games as well. I even had a chance to watch some reality show on the Discover channel called Naked and Afraid. I love the ability of two folks to survive living in the wild for 3 weeks when they have very little amenities to help them to exist getting sufficient food and water as well as shelter all while being without clothing. Nancy thinks that is wrong but the private parts are blurred out so really this lack of clothing helps with mental strength in having to make decisions on surviving in the unknown. I like the show and these two people faced with making some life decisions that are somewhat dramatic and many do make some apparel from nature, oh well, anyhow I love anything that pits man versus nature in a survival situation.

We had a great family time and it was wonderful to have our new daughter in law Katie to be a part of our family as well. She is such a delight and family orientated as well as keeping a smile on Bobby's face with her grace and beauty. What a contrast from what he has been associated with in years past. We had the Ross family as well as GG, Nancy's sister Betsy and her son Braden. They all left somewhere around going on 9'ish as it was a school night for the Ross grand kiddos. It was a great time of family fun and eatin', LATER
