Well Monday was rather nice outside to start the day but by late afternoon the a/c had to once again be turned on for the shortest day of the year; the winter equinox. The Ross grand kiddos are out of school so we saw them for most of the morning and for lunch and then Eliza Faye came back around 5 and spent the evening with us until sometime after 9 as the rest of the family went out to eat and then to the new Star Wars movie. We had such a fun time with Eliza and she is just so smart and alert with all that's going on.
The day started much the usual with a before 6 roll out for me and then my usual morning routines; a cup of hot green tea with turmeric, my quiet moments and now I've added a daily discipline of 90 days of personal growth by Skip Ross and then the posting of this ramble. I had an apple for breakfast before heading out to hand water the gardens and piddle around outside. I still haven't gone back to pickle ball as I'm giving these knees a good rest plus I don't want to be hobbled for Christmas. I hung a load of laundry while Nancy took off on a morning hike through the hood for about 40 minutes.
The Ross kiddos arrived around 10'ish and then they played outside with the neighbor boy Phoenix who is Ava's age. They spent an hour outside before he left and then they settled into the IPAD. Amy brought GG and we all had lunch together after they got back from the grocery store. The Ross clan took off for home and Nancy took GG shopping. We will have lots of folks here on Christmas eve, the next morning for breakfast and then later Christmas evening for supper. It is no wonder I can't lose any of this spare tire, oh well!
I spent the afternoon reading and catching up on some chores until it was time for Eliza to arrive. We had left overs from the night before and she ate a whole Italian sausage as well as some angel hair pasta plus a couple ginger bread cookies. She really enjoyed her supper. After the clean up we played and she and Nancy became best pals once again as she never left her lap. She was so funny and when her parents arrived she wanted to stay with "gamma" and pitched a hissy about having to go home. Well that was about it for the day except I did get to the bank and then had my ears lowered at the barber shop about mid morning, LATER
