Friday Morning

Well I must say Thursday was anything but usual except for the 6' ish roll out to start the day. I was to meet  up with my endodonist at 8:30 to ascertain if I needed any root canals for the two molars which precluded me from taking any analgesics after midnight. After my morning routines and a few quiet moments I got ready for the 45 minute drive through rush hour to the clinic in St.Pete. Well to make a long story short the dental assistant bombarded the molars without the temporary cap in place with pressure, heat and ice all of which had me being jolted with pain but because both teeth were in a row it was difficult to detect which one had been causing me so much discomfort a couple days ago. The pain and discomfort suddenly receded after each test which had everyone befuddled as well as myself. At one point I said "just do them both" but the doctor didn't think that was necessary as he to wanted to correct the tooth that had been hurting me.

It seems the past 24 hours I wasn't waking up with any pain at night. So what were we to believe that now the molars were adjusting from the procedures for crowning after a week of nightly pain. Well the doctor wanted me to have another 3-D xray which dissects the tooth in all kinds of dimensions so off we go for the xray and just as we finish the shoot and I'm walking back to the exam room all of the power to the clinic is suddenly gone. There were patients in most of the rooms getting root canals so all of those procedures were stopped. I waited another 30 minutes before they decided I could come back if need be because despite all of the testing on the molars they were not aching even with the temporary cap not in place. They were not able to replace the cap because they couldn't clean it out without power. So with the cap in an envelope I stopped at my regular dentist who reglued the cap in place. I still wasn't having any major discomfort from all of this attention to the molars so I began to think maybe I'm going to weather this storm without any further root canals.

I spent the rest of the day until late evening without any discomfort to the molars but by bedtime I needed some pain meds as once again the area was causing me lots of pain and discomfort. I did get relief from the meds and slept through the night and this morning I'm pain free so far. Well what a story and who would have believed that for some reason the power grid in St.Pete suddenly shut down. I still didn't find out what occurred or why there was a loss of electricity to that area, oh well could it have been divine intervention knowing I didn't need the procedures or maybe its setting me up for a weekend of incessant pain?? Oh well!!

Amy, GG and the kiddos came for a lunch of sandwiches. I must say my home grown tomato's are simple the best ever on a sandwich with sweet onion and mayo, yeow were they ever delicious and while the plants are dead and gone I pulled several dozen of the green ones before the nasty fruit flies were able to destroy them. They are ripening slowly but surely. Carol our neighbor was cleaning out her mothers room and gave GG her mothers lift chair and a walker and a few other medical aids so I loaded them up on the ruck and delivered and set them up for her at her house just in case she may need them. We them took off for Sam's Club to stock up on goodies for the up and coming big family dinners. Nancy decided to have baked chicken breasts in a white wine sauce with fresh garden green onions on top for supper(I forget whats that's called) along with parsley taters, carrots and a fresh salad, yeow was that ever delicious as well. Eric and GG ate with us. She is doing remarkable after spending 3 days in ICU.  After the cleanup we settled into the Lightning and Ray's games. Well neither won their respective games but the Ray's did make a decent come back after one of their best pitchers walked in 2 runs which made the difference in the final score. The Lightning were just out hustled by the Candanians as it was a do or die game for them.

That was about it for the day as Eric is going to spend another week here with GG and hopefully get her back to being comfortable alone in her house. We are hoping that she will go to Michigan with Eric for the summer as we need to check on the cabin. Amy has 3 kiddos and Betsy works all the time and her husband lives in Clearwater which makes for GG being alone most of the time and now she is starting to question herself about being alone especially after this last debacle with the blood loss and possible heart attack, LATER
