Tuesday Morning

Well Monday was shorts and short sleeves all day long. Finally the cold moved out of the area and none is forecasted for the entire next week. I can't imagine anymore real cold weather until next fall and soon I will be through with the hot, muggy temps which will envelope the area. I think its the humidity which is the biggest complaint of Florida weather. Anyhow the garden loves this weather as it stayed foggy for most of the morning and then again just before dark the sea fog rolled in again.

The day started much the typical for a week day as I rolled out around 6'ish. That molar is acting up again so it's time for another crown and hopefully not a root canal to accompany. I've manage to control the discomfort with ibuprofen but the old filing is close to 50 years in age and the tooth is starting to crack I'm sure. No longer will I be eating my favorite almonds as a snack as I think that is the culprit in causing the tooth to give way, oh well. It kept me awake at various times through out the night.

I headed out for pickle ball after my usual morning routines on my bike to the rec. We had 2 courts in action and the wet shirts were evident by 10 AM. I dropped off several reads at the library and then headed home to work outside in the garden. I picked a nice mess of 1/2 runner green beans, enough to give GG for supper and Nancy made a pot of new potato's with the beans as well and wow was that ever a delicious meal with a fresh garden salad to accompany. The beans are producing and are loaded with lots of blooms as well is all of the rest of the veggies. Nancy picked a nice mess of sugar peas for stir fry and to add to our fresh salads. I've pulled a few carrots that are showing some nice size and the flavor is fantastic with them as well. The salad tomato's are setting fruit as are the peppers but I'm not sure which peppers they are as I transplanted them from the compost pile at the cabin. I have a feeling they may be habaneros as  they aren't real large and are shaped somewhat like a bell pepper. Someone gave me some and I couldn't use them fast enough so I composted them and brought back a couple of the seedling, oh well!

Amy dropped Eliza Faye off while she grocery shopped with GG. She slept for nearly an hour as she is cutting more teeth and at times she isn't a happy camper especially when she hasn't napped. I remember teething was always the toughest stage for babies as they can't get comfortable. I'm sure its much like a toothache and I can attest to the discomfort at times as I'm experiencing the same discomfort. I cut another cabbage head and divided it between GG and Amy. The new lettuce seedlings are doing quite well and I will soon start to harvest from them towards the end of the week. I have a couple green tomato's the size of a baseball and they soon should start to show some color as the store bought ones are green house without much flavor.

I made a guacamole for lunch and I added some fresh thyme and wow was that ever delicious in taste I think I will add that from now on. I add fresh garlic minced up along with fresh minced sweet onion, cilantro from the garden, olive oil, salt&pepper and lime juice. Wow what a delicious dish and I put mine on a flour tortilla for a lunch along with a little lunch meat. That makes a healthy lunch without all of the calories. I'm still battling this spare tire but it does seem to deflate some before the weekend eating commences.

Nancy took GG to do her taxes and then I picked her up and we headed home after dropping GG's car off. It was close to 5 when we got back home. I picked up a new blind at Home Depot and replaced it as the strings had wore out on the other. Luckily it slid right into the old brackets so it was no major ordeal and then I headed out to hand water the garden while the sun was still shining. I can tell the days are really starting to increase in length and we should soon be going back to daylight saving time as well. After that delicious supper and clean up we settled into the Fox News channel and after the O'Reilly Factor I headed for the shower and then to read until lights out around 10:30, LATER
