Well Florida winter weather is back after a chilly week and a couple days of it being down right cold. It reached the 80's today and no humidity with bright sunshine and the fore cast is for more of this the rest of the week with a chance of some rain later in the week. We started the day as we usually do for a Sunday morning as we got ready to head to Tampa for worship at Element Church. The interstate was just packed with the heavy volume of vehicles with lots of out of state plates. I don't blame them for heading south with all of the snow, ice and sub zero temps from up north and especially the northeast section of the country. The mountains today got a reprieve of the zero temps and it warmed to the upper 30's with some rain instead of snow for a change.
We had a nice crowd at the "gathering" at Element, but several regulars were missing due to the final moments for a grandmother. The message on kindness and goodness was inspiring and Erin used the book of Ruth to explain these two fruits of the spirit. She did an awesome job and the praise music was very uplifting as well. We had a couple new faces as well. I also connected briefly with those who want to be a part of the garden project at New Life Village and have several who want to be involved in this unique village where folks can live if they adopt older kids who are in the foster care program. What a different way to give these foster kids the semblance of a normal life with a family atmosphere. We got to love up on our son who did the closing song and shared a few words as well. It's good to see some healing as he is once more involved with Element Church in a lesser role than lead pastor.
We headed out after the service and made a stop at Walmart in Tampa for some goodies before heading to GG's. She received her corner TV stand on Saturday so I told her I would put it together for her after church. She made us a lunch of fried bacon, egg and green pepper with sliced tomato, mayo, dill pickle, lettuce and onion on toast, yeow is that ever delicious and one of Sam's favorites also as he always loves his pb&j sandwich but not when GG makes these. It's almost like eating an omelette on bread. After eating I spent the next 3 1/2 hours putting the stand together which had 125 pieces. The directions were understandable and the finished results were good. It fit perfect for her new 42" LED TV. Tyler came by and helped to hook it up with a new HD cable and programmed her remote. We took the old stand and will donate it to a thrift store for her.
We got back to the house sometime after or around 5. We decided since we had a late lunch we would eat leftovers from the Salt Rock and tortilla soup around 6'ish, both fit the bill as we shared. I tuned into the Alaskan shows and then retreated to the bedroom for some sports before calling it a night around 10'ish. The molar is still giving me some discomfort so I will head to the dentist after pickle ball this morning if they can work me in for another crown it seems like. Oh well, LATER
