Well Wednesday was another beautiful day with warm temps and bright blue skies however that all changed in the afternoon. That cold front that is hitting the south and the eastern seaboard is bringing lots of rain, wind and colder temps our way. We had severe weather with lightning, thunder and reports of tornado activity throughout central and southern Florida. The skies sure looked like it could have brought a twister in among us last evening.
I started the day with nothing that was usual; no getting up early, no ride out to the rec and of course no pickle ball. I'm beginning to wonder if any of that will ever happen again as the back and leg pain are still evident and seems to be intensifying as time goes on. None of the meds I received at the VA has helped so I sought out a chiropractor who is well known to our family. We know him and his family and is very reputable. He also takes referrals from the VA so I'm hoping my primary doctor there will give me one if I find out he can help me. I went for a consultation and x-rays and despite the pain I'm in he refused to adjust me until he had a chance to have the pictures developed because of my prior surgery some 40 plus years ago. I go back this morning(Thurs.) for those results and hopefully some pain relief.
I also have a VA appointment to have my pinkie finger on the left hand corrected after lunch today. Seems I have what is called Dupuytren contracture where the tendon draws up and I can't lay my hand down flat. I'm hopeful this condition can be corrected with a shot into the tendon and not a surgical procedure. Am I falling apart with this stage of age, yikes I'm beginning to wonder?? Oh well!!!
We cancelled house church last night as it was a severe weather kind of evening until 9'ish. We chilled on the couch after a supper of leftovers watching Fox News until the Idol show came on. Afterwards we tuned into the Olympics until it was bedtime around 11'ish. I awakened a couple time during the night with pain and finally around 4, I took another muscle relaxer,LATER
