Well Saturday turned out to be another busy day that started early with warmer temps and ended warmer yet. Enough so we cut the heater off and opened the doors; of course we had a cabin full of company and Nancy had the oven going with 2 roasting hens cooking. I noticed the weather in Seminole this morning and there is only 4 degrees different in temps, yikes that hasn't happened in awhile.
We started the day with a 7 'ish roll out to overcast skies and the threat of rain which we did get some light showers around 4 PM and then a steady drizzle for most of the evening and night. After our quiet times and a lite breakfast of eggs and grits we got ready to head over to the Dalton Farm for some alpaca manure. Nancy and Mechelle played around with trying to catch the 3 day old alpaca's but to no avail as they were just to quick and smart for them. They headed down to the horses and spent the next hour or so giving them attention while I gathered up several 5 gallon buckets of the poop which looks like rabbit dropping.
We headed home a little after 12 to a lite lunch and then I unloaded my buckets into the compose pile and gardens. The skies cleared off for some sunshine and the temps held to the mild 60's. I finished bleaching the cabin with the bean sprayer and wow what a different to the outside with all of the black mildew gone. I stayed busy until the rain suddenly came upon me so I headed in to watch a little football and baseball until Gerald, Kay, Mechelle and Kallie arrived around 5:30. The roasting chickens smelled good and Nancy had mashed spuds and gravy to go along with cooked carrots. Mechelle brought a salad and Kay brought a berry cobbler and vanilla ice cream for dessert.
We played a couple games of Sequence and the guys were actually winning as Kallie played on our side until Katelyn arrived around 7:30 after work. Well she took over for Kallie and then things went quickly down hill with the girls attention spans. It was another loss for the guys so Gerald and retired to the couch to watch the baseball playoffs while the gals, who by this time Karin(Katelyn mom) showed up for a visit sat at the table laughing and cutting up. It was after 9 before everyone decided to head for home. Katelyn said she slightly struck a deer on the way into our road that crossed in front of her. We could find no damage to her Jeep, luckily.
After everyone left we washed dishes until 10 o'clock before I headed for the shower. I could barely keep my eyes open afterwards as I tried to watch the last of the Tiger vs Red Sox game. Well I read for a few moments before it was lights out around 11, LATER Nancy had her camera out at the Dalton's farm.
