Monday

Well Sunday was another busy day that started with a roll out around 7 AM. We could hear the rain as it drizzled most of the night, dripping from the dormer onto the tin roof. The temps stayed rather mild for this time of the year and was in the 50's to start and finally reached the upper 60's as the day progressed. The skies stayed mainly overcast with rain clouds around but we did see some sunshine during the mid afternoon and early evening.

We headed out to worship at Cornerstone around 9:30 and took some spare clothes with us as we were meeting up after church to gather pumpkins from a field that had been picked over; then we were attending a grave side service for the son of one of our friends at a small mountain cemetery. We stopped off on the way home to visit with our "mountain mom" Helen for an hour or so before getting back to the cabin after 5 PM. We had gone out to lunch with the daughters(Kallie & Katelyn) of our friends who were busy doing horse sales and celebrating birthdays. We had a nice lunch at the Pines Restaurant before heading back to the Dalton Farm where the girls played with 4 baby kittens until it was time to head to the pumpkin patch. They tried to give us one of the cute kitty's but I put my foot down and said "no way". I'm an animal lover but we are through with pets for quite awhile.

We picked up at least a dozen or more pumpkins for us and then we loaded Gerald's pickup truck full. His cattle love to eat them and it's such a shame to see the ones in the field plowed under. There were hundreds of them left in the fields that can't be sold because they are less than perfect, oh well!!! We will have plenty for Ava and Sam to carve and for display around the cabin and to add to the compost pile when we leave for the winter.

We ate leftovers for supper and there may be enough for a lunch as well. Nancy settled into the laptop and Face Book and I tuned into a football game and then later saw the Tigers destroying the Red Sox; Go Tigers or any team that plays the Red Sox. I managed to stay awake until the later innings switching back and forth with the Cowboys whupping the Redskins, LATER
