Well Tuesday was another hot day after a pleasant morning and a work day for the most part after a great work out on the pickle ball courts starting around 7:30 and ended some where close to 9:30 before calling it quits. I had won most all of my matches with all really good A players and left with a wet shirt. After pedaling home I worked in the gardens for another couple hour or so before calling it a day until around 5'ish when I headed out as the heat was waning to mow the yards until it was time to grill some peppers and onions in a grill basket and then some marinated chicken breast for fajitas for our supper.
I had started the morning with a before 6 rollout to my routines that begin with some quiet time to honor Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort and healing. All are holding and the lady that got run over in the yard next door last evening survived with a fracture of her pelvis and tibia, so glad to hear she had no internal injuries.
I transplanted some Swiss chard where the bush bean seeds were sowed but never germinated and the transplanted lettuce seedlings are doing well as I'm hand watering them twice a day. I now have lettuces ready for the salad bowl and will harvest some today. I did lose another cucumber hill and not sure why. Maybe I'm watering them too much as they don't like wet feet but do like moisture. The onions continue to send up stalks and the tomato's are now blooming as well. I still have marigold seedlings to be set out around the tomato's to keep away those nasty microscopic nematodes that look like root knots and suck the nutrients from plants especially tomato's and Swiss chard.
Nancy was off with sister Betsy again shopping and doing their togetherness each November as she takes the month off from the post office on vacation. It good for her as Gus is some thing else with his health declining. I spent the hottest part of the day finishing a great read about two corrupt NYC cops who worked with the mafia and nearly got away with their crimes and duplicity for money. They were finally incarcerated and died in prison in the early 2000's. This book is based on actual evidence and footnoted with photos as well. Its titled BLOOD AND THE BADGE. Being a former LEO this just makes you sick to your stomach for what they did and became, LATER
