Well Tuesday started out on the warm side and by the afternoon if felt like August outside with high heat and humidity, wow was it ever hot in the direct sunshine. A week ago we had the heat on to take the chill out of the house to start the day. I started the morning with a before 6 rollout to my routines that begin with some quiet time to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort and healing, all seem to be holding. I'm afraid our "mountain mom" Helen is having sundowners and memory loss as she calls all hours of the day and evening but hangs up, anyhow she mentioned her son Rick is bringing her back to Florida to live out her last days, at least we can visit with her here more often. She doesn't remember where in Florida and when, oh well.
I headed off to the chiropractor for a tune up on the back and neck and decided along with him to do a maintenance check up every couple weeks until I can get back on the court for pickle ball. I'm not taking any pain meds now for 4 nights in a row and I'm back to doing lots of physical things, but do take it easy from time to time. I made a couple stops on the way home at Sam's Club for fuel and some things then a stop at Lowes for some things and a final stop at the library for stamps before getting back and having a bite of lunch. It was a long line at the post office as folks were mailing packages. Stamps are out of site in price as well.
I wanted to work in the gardens as I bought some red romaine seedlings but it was just too hot to work outside. I did loosen up the side garden soil and sowed some carrot seeds which was mainly in the shade, but it was just high heat in the direct sunshine. I sure miss the big oak tree on days like this with the lack of its shade, oh well at least Nancy and Amy are happy. I read the rest of the afternoon away until 4'ish when it began to cool down a little and then I headed out to hand water the gardens and I harvested a mess of collards for neighbor Bobby who has been a great neighbor and friend. His son came by and pressure washed our driveway while we were in Brandon last Saturday and it looks brand new. I think that was the first time in 45 years it has been pressure washed. There are lots of cracks in it and the ants have taken up residence in them so I applied some ant poison in them as well as some in the ant hills in the back yard around the gardens.
Well we ate lite for supper as we headed out around 6'ish for our church where Keswick was having their elementary concert using our large auditorium. They had to have the K thru 2nd grade early and then those folks had to exit the place so the 3rd thru 5th grade could have their program, plus there was an accident that broke the water main to the church so no bathrooms were available. Yikes! The place was packed and the musical was up beat with Eliza being one of the main characters. She did a flawless job with her lines and all of the movements in the Bethlehem Beat play. Next year she will be in middle school and Ava will be in college, where did that time go?
We got back and tuned into the Lightning game and they were winning with just a couple minutes to go when I hit the shower and then some horizontal lab, LATER
