Well the days start getting longer until June 21st. Which means we will hopefully be in the mountains on that date and that means it will be warm again after this cold snap which in now in Florida. It's not freezing but very chilly when it requires me to don long pants and long sleeve shirts other than on Sunday which is church days. Speaking of church days today is corporate worship day both on line and in person at our local place of worship. We both are back with working the doors at S.R.B.C. greeting folks, either with handshakes or hugs and I love it, although it will be a might chilly this morning with temps down into the 40's to start the day.
I started the day on Saturday with a before 6 rollout to my routines that start with some quiet times to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort and healing. All seem to be holding with this post. It was quite chilly to start the day but the sunshine was bright and has promises of eventually warming up which it did to the low 60's with a breeze which made if feel even colder. I did head out around mid morning wearing a hoodie to piddle around in the gardens and then to hand water everything. I've got a tomato turning and maybe a couple of more as well and the green beans are tiny with the plants loaded; that should be a bumper crop as well. Most everything else is looking good and the cucumber seedlings looked a little wilted for some reason and maybe its the cold. All of the leafy greens are looking super.
Nancy was off with sister Betsy shopping during the afternoon and college football as well as the pro's were on TV the rest of the day, so I was glued to the TV flipping back and forth between the two until bedtime or shower time around 8'ish. The last game was a bust so I read until lights out at 10'ish with a new read by Mark Sullivan titled THIEF. Well its another page turner as was the last two I read a couple of days ago. These last two are pure fiction but very good reading and a great story line.
I ate lite for the day except for two buckeyes of which they are just about gone from the fridge. At least they don't have as much sugar as most cookies do. I ate an orange for breakfast then a bowl of leftover Zuppa soup for lunch and then a bowl of those collard greens I cooked on Friday which are so much better the next day after sitting in the bacon fat and chicken broth over night. They melted in your mouth along with a slice of smoked ham with supper. After the clean up I watched more football but the last game was a blow out in the first quarter so I headed for the reading room until shower time and lights out, LATER
