Wednesday Morning Oct 9th

Well Tuesday was another beautiful Fall day after a chilly start with temps into the upper 40's but by mid morning it was time to shed some outer clothes and by the afternoon it was t-shirt temps; however in the shade it was cool. Tuesday also was a day of watching this huge storm in the Gulf that was getting larger by the hour and becoming a major hurricane with winds of 180 MPH, Yikes and to make it even worst, it was predicted to hit our neighborhood on the west coast of Florida. Thankfully most of our family and friends along this area have evacuated to higher ground.

It was also a work day as our dear friend Jake came to the rescue of Nancy who discovered a huge pine in the border of the front yard that was leaning towards the cabin. He knew what he was doing and downed the tree after attaching a rope and winching it away from the cabin as he sawed it down, then he and I both worked it up with chain saws and loaded it on his truck and trailer, wow what a job and he was here about 3 hours from beginning until he left around 2'ish. That was a job as I hauled of several loads of small debris to my burn pile while he took all of the big stuff along with the trunk of the tree. I put back the fence which I took down so he could get to the tree which kept me busy for another hour and I was whupped. by days end. With out Jake it would haven't been a two day job at the least.

We took a golf cart ride to the mailbox and stopped and chatted up Mike and Linda for a few and he offered to help me set up the electrical panel in the basement for my new generator which I will have if we ever experience another loss of power for days. Hopefully I'll never have to use it as its been over 30 years since we ever lost power for any length of time, but those two days wasn't fun for Nancy because she never grew up country, oh well.

I grilled deer burgers for our supper along with a fresh garden salad as I'm still getting kale, beet greens and Swiss chard to add to the store bought lettuce as well as a few jalapeno peppers. I still have several tomato's from the garden but they are long gone and the ones I picked green are starting to ripen as well. After the cleanup I settled into what is happening in Israel and they are decimating the Iran proxies Hamas and Hezbollah and now we or I hope they take out the muslim leaders of Iran who are developing nuclear bombs to wipe out Israel and eventually US(A). America's Obama has been their biggest supporter allowing them tons of cash who eventually allowed these two proxies to benefit their military mite against the Jewish nation.

Well by 9:30 I was whupped and needed a hot shower and then some reading on a Patterson book titled MARY, MARY and by 10'ish I was ready for some horizontal with and extra blanket on the bed. I did speak with an old FHP buddy for awhile in the evening and got caught up on some old news and stories as he and his wife Jan have moved from  the pan handle of Floridas to Georgia. I broke him in as a rookie and he and his wife became good friends with my first wife and I and he eventually became the best man in Nancy's and ours wedding some 45 years ago, LATER
