Friday Morning Oct 18th

Well Thursday was another cold morning with temps into the 30's and ice on the roof top of the cabin and the truck, Brrr. At least the wind had died down so there was no extra coldness from the breeze. There was plenty of sunshine and blue skies but you needed extra clothing through out the day especially in the shade.

I started the day with my usual 6'ish rollout to my routines that begin with some quiet time to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort and healing, all seem to be holding at this time. I stayed mainly inside until mid morning catching up on the middle east war and the removing of the Hamas terrorists who masterminded the massacre on oct 7th, before heading out to stretch and then do my walking/hiking around the perimeter for at least a mile. It was rather chilly but I know I will miss this ambiance when we get back to hot humid Florida in a couple days.

I did a few small chores around the cabin as I really get ready to close it down on Saturday with all of my before leaving on Sunday morning around 4'ish. We did a visit to the Heglar's in the afternoon and I helped Grant load the loaner generator into his truck, which he had been borrowing during our power outage. I'm still waiting on the delivery of his accessories for his generator which was ordered the same day, but for some reason its never been delivered as of yesterday. Shirley had a huge pot of vegetable soup cooking and blessed us with a bowl for our supper. Nancy had made a small pot of chicken soup for lunch and both were perfect for this weather.

Today I'll load up some items for Jake and Katelyn as we will now give our left over and small goodies from the cabinet and fridge we don't want to haul back to Florida, where as we use to give them to our "mountain mom" Helen. I also have some large items that I no longer need or use which will help with his building on his house over the winter, plus we will make a garbage stop at the dump, before heading back after filling up the truck with gas. I want to stop at a friend house and pick up some apple wood for my smoker from the trees the storm took out a couple weeks ago on the way to Jake's.

Well we went to out last couples class at one of the couples house last evening and we had 12 or so there. It is always good fellowship with this group as we have grown closer together as well as in the Word. I'll start my mens class again in Seminole in a week or so as well and get back to that fellowship at S.R.B.C. Our group here comes from different churches except for another couple who attends Cornerstone with us. We got back to the cabin a little after 9 as we had made a couple stops before the class at the grocery and then at the library to return my check outs. I hit the shower and then read a book I had started months ago on the history of Texas and the battle at the Alamo. It was lights out at 10'ish for me, LATER
